Great find Makara that was so good to see Kerry-Anne Walker, Allison's bestie right at the front with a big smile. Possibly showing her confidence in the upcoming trial?
I'd love to be a fly on the wall to what she may have confided.

Domestic violence of epidemic proportions a 'national emergency': campaign groups

Domestic violence is the leading cause of death and injury in women under 45, with more than one woman murdered by her current or former partner every week.

There are young victims too, with more than one million children affected by domestic violence.
Accounting for 40 per cent of police time, the cost to the economy is $13.6 billion per year.
The Easter period marked the deaths of six women and children in a single week.

Allison was killed around Easter. :(

Domestic violence-one woman murdered by her current or former partner every week?

I've been such a fool! Here I am thinking our society has changed from the drunken 'head of the house' arriving home from the pub and throwing his warmed dinner across the room because the steak was overdone!
Am I a fool for hoping that the woman has respect and equality because she pulls in just as much money as 'her man', pays the same bills and cleans the inside of the house while her sweetheart mows the lawns each weekend?
I understand some drug effected drunken fights down the street in some areas but these families are reasonably well off. Is it the stress of life or is there a Toni McHugh lurking behind every toilet door?

I attended the high tea at Girls Grammar with daughter she is in the photo, also met Allison's mum lovely lady she said that the girls were doing great which is nice to hear.Allisons friend Kerri -Anne gave a lovely talk thanking everyone on behalf of the family for attending and for raising money for the children. She mentioned that the next couple of months will be very stressful without specifying the trial.

Oh, Praise the Lord! Some first hand news regarding the girls! And it is good!
I had terrible misgivings in the early days regarding their tender young minds being manipulated without their conscious perception.
Thank-you SOOO much IN2ITION (great name!)

I'm sure the girls are in a wholesome and loving environment. Allison was raised into a beautiful woman and I'm sure the girls will have the same. I can think of worse places they could be. ;(

Agree totally TGY! Besides the fact that Allison was raised by beautiful parents (as evidenced by a beautiful daughter):
Sure beats counting days, hours, minutes and seconds until JUSTICE! (Good work BTW.)
Can't understand why some people (the legal people) think that the passage of time might the dim general public's perception, indignation infuriation and disgust at this terrible heinous horrible and completely unnecessary crime.
Added to all this is the disregard by the apparent perpetrator for life or love or for humanity. Included here is the apparent disregard for the life of his beloved wife.
Added to this is the filthy greedy manner in which the apparent perpetrator figured he could cash in some chips; ASAP. Forget the fact that someone had murdered his wife.
That appears to be an insignificant matter. Even someone called the Insurance Company (before the body was formally identified) and tried and collect the (all glorious ) MONEY!
One other wee matter: Has he shown any remorse? Has he shown any indication that he might be trying to make amends? Has he shown any indication that he might try and become a better person whilst at the same time recognizing the enormity of the crime?
Added to all this is the perception (well by myself) that business should continue as per usual.
Sorry but I am unable to grasp any or all of that and call myself sane at the same time.
Oh TGY dearest, another thought close to the heart at this time; Thankyou so very much for reminding everyone and providing the links about Domestic Violence. An insidious disease of unknown proportion that can be palmed off as suicide when it is anything but. The word Suicide in cases such as this is designed to protect a murderer from the long arm of the Law.

Ladybird1, I love your posts BTW :seeya:
How many murders have passed as suicides. Lisa Harnum and Allison could have easily slipped through, was it because they were in areas affluent with good witnesses and people who cared? Sad to think of 'Ms Disadvantaged' from Struggle Street.

Thanx for reminding us of the utter arrogance of that man thinking Allison could be discarded over the edge of a bridge over 6 klms away and then hand over the money for his hard work?
"just lay low while the peasants search, time to grow a beard to cover the evidence, feed the fools cake".
OMG can you imagine the happy couple living it up on Allison's insurance. IT MAKES ME SICK!!
Swear words are easily found.

Do you want it in nanoseconds too? I can do that!
(T'was all BS my friends BTW I'm not that smart!)

Reports of a lock-down at Arthur Gorrie at Wacol began filtering through just before 4pm. Fairfax Media understands the two prisoners who took to the roof are protesting over food and access to the exercise oval.

Channel 7 said it was because of the no smoking ban in the prisons. 4 out of 5 prisoners are smokers.
Also saw prisoners on the roof, I doubt GBC could climb a ladder! Poor Diddums!

While I'm refreshing my memory I thought I'd share.
Unbelievable!

This Video from channel ten BEFORE Allison was found "issuing a very brief written statement through his lawyer wanting privacy and his family believed set off north out of town".
While the close knit community locals held all night vigil, Baden-Clay was not at the service.

At 1:41 in this ABC news vid there are 2 State Emergency canoeists paddling! Was it these guys that found Allison? Allison was missing more than a week.

Also stating the police were examining some personal items found during the search. Is a phone a personal item??? The police wouldn't expand.

"I tried to recreate clones of me..." Heaven help us!!! Vomit!

agh.....both my dog and I reeled back in horror .. the yellow jacket!!... that smarmy babble!.. all bought back into sharp recall..

I , too am counting the days. rearranging stuff to fit in with my intense interest in ole Tone and Our Boy Gerard,<modsnip>

I've been thinking that Ger probably is enjoying life in the Arthur Gorrie unit.. who can get at him for debt collection there?? no one, and it must have been a pre-life of hell and horror, albeit entirely self provoked and entirely self managed. I bet he is resting easy , untrammelled by women or kids, or traffic, or staff, .. no meetings to attend, no selling to do.. just eat and sleep and contemplate his useless life.. I suspect we will see a relaxed and buffed up Gerard come June 10..

I'm looking forward to seeing Olivia , too.. no doubt she has been busy praying and combing thru a list of donors for the defence bill, I like to think of Olivia doing this.. It's going to be a very big bill , and that should keep Olivia occupied for life, really.

She knows what her brother did, she knew when she made that sickening plea for 'Al to come home'...

not long now, peoples..

TGY, you sure are digging deep and thanks for the bucket warning. I needed it. :nurse:

However this video I hadn't seen.

It is my understanding that Allison's body was 'found' on the 10th day of being missing by an unknown/unreported person and these SES paddlers were there on the 9th day.

Reading between the lines, I'd say SES paddlers found Allison, but it wasn't until the next day that police canoe-est actually reached her. It was all reported really vaguely. So I wonder what the SES actually found aside from Allison?

Oh Trooper, you have such a brilliant way with words. Or is it your dog that speaks? Either way, you provide much entertainment and wise words.

I was alone with OW in a lift just before her last media conference and I think she was practicing her speech on me by crying "But we all love and miss her."

Anyway, looking forward to more wit and wisdom from you in the coming weeks.

I'm following the Oscar Pistorius case at the moment as like Allison's case you tend to forget all that has happened in the beginning.I've been going over some of the old news footage this week and can't believe how Gerard and his family behaved in the early days when Allison was missing let alone when her body was finally found. Cant wait for the trial to begin.
