Am I going nuts? Newspaper articles with faces marked over??

I don't recall those words exactly, but I do recall reading that Patsy used to draw a heart in JB's hand. I think that was mentioned in ST's book.

What's odd is that, if she drew this particular heart, why would she say that it was "a pretty good little heart"? She wouldn't say that if she herself drew it, and it doesn't look like a heart drawn by an adult. To me, it's almost as though she was admiring the art work of one of her children. Which is exactly what it was, imo.

Actually, I think she'd say it to try to give the impression it was "too good a heart" to have been drawn by a child. She was trying to give the impression that whoever killed her (the intruder/sff/disgruntled employee/housekeeper) drew it.

DeeDee, cynic posted this to you (almost exactly a year a go, strangely enough) on the Insane Questions for SuperDave thread:

You are remembering the quote from a book that you read, A Mother Gone Bad: The Hidden Confession of JonBenet's Killer, by Dr. Andrew Hodges, 1998
"One of Patsy's friends recently revealed that Patsy often drew a heart in JonBenet's palm and told her, "While you are asleep you have my heart in your hand and you don't have to be scared." Someone who knows the Ramseys well said that "JonBenet herself never made such drawings on her palm-only Patsy did."

Could that be what you were thinking of? HTH.

That is VERY interesting.

YES- that is exactly what I was thinking- I just didn't remember where I had read it. Thank you for posting this.

Isn't it? It would appear that Patsy drew the heart, or someone wanting to implicate Patsy. Equally interesting, though, is: What did JBR have to be afraid of when she was asleep?

You're welcome. Thank you prompting the search. It's helpful to get the Hodges quote back on the radar. I mean, it was a pretty good little paragraph....

I'm usually in complete agreement with you, DeeDee, but on this point we differ. Her exact words were, "That's a pretty good little heart." In my mind, that's a statement one makes about the accomplishment of a child. And it looks like a heart drawn by a child, imo. And I think that's exactly what it was. Either JB drew it, or another child drew it. And I think Patsy was aware of it prior to JB's murder.

The fact that she would pee her bed or poop at times says she feared a lot.

Oh, I definitely agree a child drew it- either JB or a little friend. I meant that Patsy's comment was intended to give the impression that a child couldn't have drawn it. We only see an autopsy photo with her palm curled somewhat, but frankly, it does look like a child drew it- it isn't THAT good a heart.
