I have a feeling that on occassion he would leave them out and about in the house but the house would be locked. I am sure he told them never to count on him being gone long and that he might be testing them.

This belief of the girls that AC would "test" them is also supported by the reports I read yesterday from relatives of AC's now deceased ex wife. They told of him locking her up in the house, not letting her leave, beating her, scaring her half to death and sometimes "testing" her to see if she would try to escape when she thought he had left.

Maybe AC did leave the house unlocked, but when he did, how could the girls ever know for sure?

As to the possible fourth victim and the RIP on the basement wall. There may never have been a fourth victim. It is entirely possible that as a means of instilling terror, the name was written there by AC himself as a means of suggesting they weren't the first, they were easily killable and replaceable with another.
BBM: Well that is an interesting possibiliy. Thanks.
And let's hope you are right. Let's hope there were no others.

But it needs investigating thoroughly. After all it seems he beat Ms. Knight badly.

I do wonder if the RIP was another way of instilling fear in them.
Gosh, I really hope the police are not just stopping here. I hope they are looking at other places he may have girls stored. Didn't somebody mention he might have other houses?

These girls can't be the only ones. If he was coming and going 5 times a day he wasn't out looking for jobs, I'm sure.

AC had to have the outside doors locked. Otherwise why would the door have to be kicked in to free Amanda and her daughter?

Honestly if anyone expects June and Ward Cleaver to show up to claim some of the victims in the cases we cover your going to be disappointed. People are what they are and love is what they have to offer. Be thankful for them that there is family even if the families don't live up to your expectations. IMO

rcbm ~ I thought Michelle told LE that there was a girl there when she arrived, but that she woke up one day and she was gone?

It sounded like a storm door was kicked in.

But not the BIG door with all the deadbolts.

That's what I recall.

from the stories about the girls' rescue I was under the impression that a screen door was locked and that Amanda managed to get the door to crack open enough to scream out to neighbors and passersby. Then Charles and the other gentleman noticed and headed over to see what the problem was. The door had to be kicked out in order for Amanda to escape with J. So I am acting under the assumption the reason the door had to be kicked open is that it was locked.

Oh I didn't realize they actually HAD tried before, I thought they just assumed it was a test and were too scared to try. Thanks.

He couldn't exactly lie since he was the only person living in that house and they had not 1, not 2, but 3 women and a child who were talking.

I'm not sure if he sang like a canary. I know it was reported that he confessed to 'some things' .. I hope he just admits it all and pleads guilt - takes his punishment and suffers for the rest of his life while the girls flourish with every day!

Yes. At first the reports were he confessed. Now they are saying 'not exactly" The report on Pierce MOrgan states he is saying that some of the sex was "consensual."
Her are the characteristics of a misogynist
Default How to recognize a misogynist

According to the website (URL below), a misogynist has a hatred, dislike or distrust of women. I'm posting this because:
How To Recognize the Symptoms
• Thinks his masculinity depends on dominating women.
• Controls women by destroying their self-confidence
• Needs to insure that women are always less powerful than he
• Intimidates women by constantly finding fault with them
• Humiliates women in public and devalues their opinions
• Must ALWAYS win in a discussion with or about women – all encounters with or about women are seen as a battle to be won
• Blames women for failings that are in no way related to them
• Blame women for his own failings and shortcomings (or the failings and shortcomings of other men)
• Denies women’s feelings and makes them wrong for feeling them
• Makes jokes or derogatory comments about women and then ridicules any woman who gets offended or upset
• Belittles or ignores women’s accomplishments
• Wants to punish any woman who displeases him
• Has no remorse or guilt for the pain he causes women
• Tries to keep women from doing things they are qualified to do
• Selectively quotes authorities to substantiate his views and positions on women
• Will confuse issues by changing the subject, denial, word jugglery, lying, twisting the facts or acting as if nothing happened (when you both know that it did)
• A knight in shining armor – zeroes in on a woman to “save”
• Extremely possessive, wants all of your time and undivided attention
• Obsessively jealous, even of your women friend. Wants you to account for any time spent away from him
• Is preoccupied with sex and is sexually controlling
• Has grandiose behavior; cocky and self centered
• Has first class spending habits; always wanting more.
• Can’t stand criticism; always on the defense
• He has problems with authority figures in general and women in authority in particular.
• Is nasty behind the wheel and feels that other drivers’ mistakes are directed toward him personally
• Has a Jekyll and Hyde personality - Nice to you in public, but cuts you down in private
• Always the victim; takes no responsibility; blames others/things/circumstances for his behavior
• Overly sensitive and sulking when he does not get his way
• Steals, uses people, always borrowing but never pays back
• Give gifts then demands favors
• Professes religious beliefs then attacks your religious beliefs

Gonna start checking things off the list

Oh my gosh--- I might be reading too much with no sleep but I wonder if one of the "girls" was one of his daughters and she just heard them? Did she get to see anyone in the beginning of her capture? well, never mind that sounds like a dumb question. i mean, did she see the person she thought was also kidnapped?

I think the fact that she could open it enough to wave her arm through and that he never allowed anyone to use the front door (including himself) that it was somehow sealed at the bottom. But it has been said that the outer doors had numerous dead bolts on them. So possibly an inside door in addition to the one she got out of?

I was so glad to hear today that michelle was released from the hospital and has a warm safe place in gina's home to go to. They seem like such an amazing caring family and i have no doubt they will welcome her as one of their own.

and then i hear about her mother hiring a lawyer to try and force her to see her. That makes me sick to my stomach.

“I’m not saying Michelle is legally incompetent. That’s baloney. But nothing she says is reliable. Anyone that damaged doesn’t have a handle on what they need,” Milano said.

.. i would say what i really think about this guy, but i would probably get in alot of trouble.. I wish they would leave her alone and let her heal. If the time comes that she wants to reunite she will. This will only drive them farther apart

edit: I've heard some reports that Gina's family denies she is there. This could be true, but could also be to protect her. Michelle could have very well told them to say that. I really hope she gets the privacy and space she needs to heal properly

yes, she did, but do we know that she saw the other girl or was she led to believe there was one? Or possibly there was another girl but who would be the person to write RIP if that girl was dead? A second girl that was there? But Michelle did not mention two girls being there.

a) a girl was there and she was killed. Who wrote RIP?

b) a completely different (3rd) girl there at the time that the 2nd was there (before Michelle) and one girl died before Michelle arrived to leave the 2nd girl to write RIP?

c) there never was another girl when Michelle arrived and it was all psychological terror meant to instill fear and assure submission.

I've got no answers, just lots of questions and speculation.

I was hoping that Michele would be able to stay with one of the other young women while she recuperates and transitions back into society. According to this article she is staying with Gina De Jesus. I was just thinking about how different it must be for them to now be apart after depending on one another for so many years.

2nd try to post link..

I hate to be a complainer in a case like this, but the numbers just don't seem to add up and it drives me nuts.

Originally I thought I read that her younger brother, who was a twin, was left in a dumpster (or something like that). The brother who went to see her has also been called "a twin", but in this article he is called "her twin." They originally say he is 30, then say he's 32 when they call him her twin, and later again say he was kicked out 16 years ago at the age of 14. Is he her twin, or one of a set of twin brothers?

Another thing is her son. It says she was assaulted in Junior High, and had the baby shortly before she was abducted. It also says that he was taken from her shortly after birth, and again say it was shortly before the abduction. The problem is that she was abducted 11 years ago, but it's said that he is now about 13. This whole case is going to be hard enough to keep straight so I really wish those who are paid to keep us informed would make sure they're informing us of correct information. Or, at the very least, have conflicting information in different articles so we just assume we didn't remember correctly. MOO :banghead:
