I just don't trust people who move to a different state after a relative is abducted. If my daughter were missing, I would spend every single waking moment looking for her. I would not pick up and move.

I'm not quite caught up, so if this has been addressed just ignore me. Amanda's dad lived in Tennessee when Amanda disappeared, he did not move there after she was abducted.

RE those 2 police officers who brought the kid back to Dahmer to get slaughtered.

One is still a cop there and was made president of the Milwaukee Police Association.

The other rose to Captain of police in another town.

And the family of the 14-year old sued Milwaukee and won $850,000. But read this, and get the barf bag ready.

I just saw the news about Michelle leaving the hospital. A few thoughts:

1) WTH can't her mother leave her alone? What does she owe her mother? She is a grown adult who very much needs to surround herself right now by people who only have her best interests at heart. Her mother's behavior - and that of her attorney - infuriates me.

2) I'm worried about Michelle leaving without a support system in place. She needs one. I hope she's okay.

(My hope is that she is in touch with the other two victims and their families, even if kept in secret. Seems like they are the only family she has at this point.)

Actually, it says that they thought she was going there. But a later article elsewhere has the grandmother saying that she did not going there after all.

It could be a cover up to throw her mom off her trail, or it could be the truth.

But someone needs to set her straight. Michelle finally gets to call the shots now. She spent her 11 years satisfying someone else. Now it is her turn. Her turn to rest, to heal and to be in charge of her own future. Her turn to decide who she wants to see and who she doesn't. And her turn to decide who she wants to have a relationship with and who she doesn't.

If you want what is best and what is right for her..... Let her have her turn.

It looks like her mom is just trying to capitalize on the situation-she probably thinks she can get on a talk show and make some money. She is not acting like a mother.

Yes, my thoughts exactly. She seems just horrible to me. In that first interview, the reporter asked if Michelle had "mental health issues," and she was all, "I don't know anything about that." REALLY, lady?? Even the girl's aunt (or cousin?) in a separate interview said that Michelle was an adult but had the mind of a child, and I believe her. They also spoke with her brother and just by his speech he comes across as being somewhat mentally handicapped. Why couldn't the mother just be honest and advocate for her daughter? She should have said something like "Yes she had some problems/learning disabilities which is what makes her ordeal even more heinous, in that AC took advantage of her special needs"; there is no shame in that. I am proud of MK for refusing to see her mother if that is how she truly feels; she's obviously not so "slow" that she has forgotten what that woman is like. Good for her. I just hope that, wherever she is, she is in a loving, supportive environment with all the support and services she needs. And I agree with the poster who stated that the mother quite possibly wants to capitalize on Michelle's situation for her OWN benefit. Horrible woman, she just gave me the creeps! JMO, MOO, etc!

So, I am just trying to get caught up....is it true that Michelle was raped in school, which she reported but was not taken seriously....THEN, raped again by mom's boyfriend? At what point was the child born? Was he a product of the 1st rape, or the second one? Or not at all? Do we know? And, do we know what happened to him after Michelle disappeared? I know he was in foster care....would he then have been adopted?

I'm having a hard time believing anything that Michelles family has to share ~ now I am wondering if her son WAS from her 'step-monster' who would think he had a right to abuse the little boy. From what I've heard tell from their quotes/mouths, they are twisting some things to totally avoid moms exe-boyfriend. I'm going to keep a fairly closed mind on anything else they have to say unless it confirmed by Michelle - LE or court documents.

He shouldn't be seeing the 10 year old anyway. He should have been in jail for raping her older sister. What mother would want someone she knows as a rapist hear her child????

Of course, any normal mom wouldn't. But, if BK indeed left like that, then her complaint about the police not contacting her and just removing Michelle from the 'missing' database, saying everyone knew where she (BK) was and family knew how to contact her, doesn't make much sense. For whatever reasonable reason, she went into hiding/left - and the police couldn't find her either.

BK's story just has so many inconsistencies in it, and it is starting to annoy me now. She just needs to leave Michelle alone, and hope that one day Michelle will contact *her*. Write her a letter for all I care that she can read when and if she wants, with BK's side of the story, and leave it at that. Seriously, getting a lawyer?? SMH. :banghead:

If Michelle saw another girl there when she first got there, then I believe there was another girl there when she first got there. She would have no reason to make something like this up.

It's unconscienable to make statements like "her word is unreliable". They haven't talked to her, she hasn't said anything publically and she's got a whole ordeal to go through with the trial and everything. Discrediting her at the get go is disgusting.

I'm wondering if Feckley knew Castro, if he got Castro to "disappear" Michelle before the hearing so she couldn't be a witness. How convenient she was kidnapped the day before she was set to testify against him. A-mazing!

It was repeated tonight on HLN that Castro was assaulting his wife at the same time Michelle would have been there.... Maybe his x wife was there and she never told out of fear for her life. She died last year.
