Why isn’t there a Meredith Kercher thread? What happened to it?
I have seen other threads disappear. Sometimes I think they decide to hide them if they're particularly contentious.

Amanda Knox remains adamant about her claim of innocence, saying she plans to appeal her re-conviction for slander all the way to the Italian Supreme Court if she has to.
"I will fight for the truth," Knox said in an interview with Sky News Italy on Thursday, June 6, making her first public comments since an appellate court in Florence, Italy, ruled to uphold the conviction related to the 2007 murder of her British roommate Meredith Kercher.
Yes! This!!!I have not read this but it popped up at the top of the page. When I saw Amanda in Italy, AGAIN, all I could think was glutton for punishment. Who, in their right mind, would ever set foot in that country again after all that's happened?
IMO she is now an advocate for the falsely convicted and earns her living from that and writing. She wouldn't set a good example if she threw in the towel.oh so she's going to waste more people's time and court resources IMO

What a ridiculous legal system! Kind of Kafkaesque. After the ECHR found that Italy had violated Amanda's rights and ordered an action plan to rectify it, Italy could have simply annulled the verdict. But they ordered a new trial instead, and with the trial comes the right of both parties to appeal (this would go to the Supreme Court anyway, now they have to actually look at it - and if it had gone the other way, the prosecution would absolutely have appealed). The only one wasting resources here is Italy, desperately clinging to the idea that the embarrassing fiasco that was the Meredith Kercher case at least wasn't the fault of them, but Amanda
Can't agree more, Minazoe.I have put myself in her shoes many times..I have imagined it in many languages too. Italy is not some third world country with little law , I disagree very much that she was so hysterical and unable to understand when she speaks Italian is there to speak Italian, can talk to a lawyer...can call her parents..can handle a misunderstanding and work through problems because she is not an idiot. But even when she has all this going for her she just throws in the towel and accuses her boss of murder? sorry but just no. I don't buy it. I know LE can be very intimidating and she was no doubt frightened , hungry etc..but her own behavior was so unhinged that all this is what took her to a jail sentence to begin with. I don't believe anyone hit her either. I don't believe her.

For those that say it is only rumor and not true that Knox is wealthy or got off because she was wealthy, her father Curt Knox was director of finance for the Macy's department store chain which gave him wealth far beyond middle class, and he hired a million dollar PR campaign (Marriott) on her behalf during the trials in Italy.
Even so, PR firms are notoriously expensive, and Marriott is a prominent one. Curt Knox claimed hiring them to portray his daughter internationally as wrongly accused was one of the smartest things he'd ever done:

Amanda Knox’s dad: Hiring a PR pro was ‘one of the smartest things we ever did’ - PR Daily
A Seattle-based public relations firm played an important role in the release of Amanda Knox from an Italian prison. Public relations played a major part in the release of accused killer Amanda Knox from an Italian prison. In fact, Knox’s father, Curt, told the Puget Sound Business Journal that...www.prdaily.com
An innocent defendant needs no PR.I'm confused about the point you're making. Hiring a PR firm doesn't point to guilt. I think it's the smartest thing he did too. MOO.
An innocent defendant needs no PR.
Maybe so. But there is a fine line between PR image help where the defendant may be being unfairly painted ("Foxy Knoxy" is an example I think of real media bias) and the waving away of legitimate evidence.I'm sorry, I completely disagree with this. Numerous people have been wrongly convicted in countries around the world. We know this because many are exonerated decades down the line after they've lost half their life to a prison cell.
I'd also argue that anyone involved in any controversy, whether they are guilty or not, face a media circus and a very hostile public. We've seen absolute tragedies where innocent victims are hounded and harassed (like Sandy Hook), so to suggest someone who's been accused and jailed for a crime doesn't need a PR help if they're innocent is very short-sighted.
MOO.
BBMit still doesn't ring quite right with me, and I still think she was involved. mOO
I agree with all you say. JMO MOOAmanda could never explain when where and how anything occurred on that night...it was a word salad festival with knives, bleach and mops..she took a mop and went across town with it..she was there, she wasn't there..she was at the bar, her boss did it...I mean come on ...even if my room mate was murdered in my apartment, I would be able to cohesively recall my evening..even if smoking pot or whatever..she changed her story with every passing interveiw.
even if she is on the spectrum or has some other issues..I never believed her. She put her family through utter hell, she falsely accused someone..she LIED and a man was totally smeared. she is a snake..all she had to do was tell the truth..so what was the problem?
Her reaction to the murders was bizarre and suspicious, she fell under that umbrella of suspicion due to her own problems with telling her story and buttoning up her alibi.
when she said people didn't like her because she is pretty kind of irked me. I mean pretty shaming is real, but generally
pretty girls get more sympathy, care and concern than others.
for me Amanda was some part of this, I don't know if we will ever know the whole truth...but maybe she wanted to move in with or have her boyfriend move in with her after the "tragedy" and care for her in her "trauma" and replace her room mate . She has pretty much made a career out of this murder case and the story just never comes together even though someone has been convicted...it still doesn't ring quite right with me, and I still think she was involved. mOO
