Yes, very odd. I am thinking why would they need to have cleaned the kitchen anyway? They must have been cleaning off RS prints in the kitchen, because Rudy prints they wouldn't care about and Amanda prints would have excuse for being in the kitchen. The only one who wouldn't belong was RS. But they could have said RS's were from the day before when they were eating lunch there. So IMO, it was because Rudy's prints were intertwined in the same area with RS prints (kitchen), that's why they cleaned off kitchen surfaces. And even though Amanda lived there, of course she would not want her prints intertwined in same area along with Rudy, either. That would also be the reason they cleaned off the large bathroom - of course fingerprints are not like the footprints, they cannot distinguish who's is who, so they had to clean off all the prints, otherwise their prints would show up alongside/intertwined/same area as Rudy's.

My understanding has been that fingerprints are most often not visible to the eye; surfaces are dusted for prints, to reveal the prints. Why would they not eliminate fingerprints from Meredith's room?

All I can say is that Knox and Sollecito must have been pretty stoned when they cooked up the staged break in because they ransacked Filomina's closet and threw her computer on the floor before they broke the window ... whether they broke the window from inside the bedroom or did some target practice from the parking pad.

Did the pot make them telepathic as well, so they could "stage" the break-in to be so much like Rudy's break-in at the lawyers' office? Not only the rock through the 2nd story window, but the glass and clothing on the floor, drinks taken from the refrigerator, mess in some areas but few items actually stolen?

"Then we go to the other room, where there is the register, which was completely ransacked. Have been opened all the drawers, took every file and cards all mixed up on the ground, there was a mountain of papers, practically an entire archive mixed, so much so that many things we have not found even more, some after, some before , others later. In short, this was the situation.

Then inside my room, on the desk, there was a case of my property, leather, and on this case were arranged in an orderly way of screwdrivers, pliers, a hammer, geared toward the window, all perfectly aligned and oriented towards the window."

Oh sorry, by 'intertwined' I meant in the same area. For example, kitchen. They would not want Rudy and RS prints to be together in one area. And even though Amanda prints would have an excuse for being there, she probably would not want her prints in same area with Rudy, or Rudy and RS both, because that would just be too close for comfort, IYKWIM. And I guess it could even be literally intertwined, as in one person's print overlapping Rudy's, that would be absolute disaster.

IMO they didn't in in Meredith's room b/c the places they didn't would have no chance of having their prints anyway. And by cleaning those places, they would risk leaving evidence of themselves in Meredith's room by way of footprints, etc.. I do believe they cleaned off the nighstand b/c there are no fingerprints on the nightstand, but I'm not sure. If they didn't touch some surfaces, then there would be no need to clean them off, and that would actually risk them leaving more evidence of themselves. They did clean off the places they touched - the doorknob, door, possibly lamp, etc.. And I believe maybe even the nightstand - it's very strange that that is the one surface with no Meredith fingerprints on it.

They cleaned off all surfaces that they had touched, or anyplace where Rudy might have touched which might also have RS and Amanda fingerprints nearby, such as kitchen and Large Bathroom.

But Quesarita, if that were the case, and Rudy touched all of those things in the cottage, where are his fingerprints? There are none of his fingerprints in Filomena's room, none in kitchen, none in large bathroom??

I'm not one to dismiss anything which happens to run counter to my own theories, but would rather confront it, and see what comes of it.

This is very strange, to say the least.....I don't know what to make of it yet....Thanks for posting.

The only thing that the staged break in has in common with so many break ins all over the world is the use of a rock to break a window.

Guede climbs metal grilles, but that wasn't done here. He enters through French doors, but that wasn't done here. He choose easy points of entry, but that wasn't done here. Essentially, I don't see anything in common between what Guede does when breaking into a building, and a rock pitched from 13 feet into a double shutter window.

I don't recall any evidence of Guede preparing a meal.

As far as I know, he left no finger prints in the lawyers' office either.

Maybe he wore gloves, but took them off to touch his victim etc. (actually I don't even want to repeat what he said he did in part of his testimony, but he would have most likely taken off gloves to do it). That could explain why he left only a single palm print under Meredith's body, while still managing to leave some smears of her blood on the bathroom wall and her door lever.

Also, IMO it is not that similar. There are no things arranged in orderly way, there was no mess in kitchen, there was a mess in the large bathroom toilet but for some reason none of his fingerprints found in there. None of his fingerprints found in any of these places. How do we know about any drink - there was no mess in kitchen - he did not leave juice cartons out on counter or food out on counter, which is more what I would expect. He did not take out a bunch of food and start cooking things. There are no signs that he made himself at home in the living room, plus there are no fingerprints of his in the living area.

There is Filomena room messed-up, that's it. And that overlaps with staged burglary, meaning a staged burglary would naturally have things overlap with Rudy's past burglaries. Meaning, a staged burglary is going to have some signs overlap with a real burglary - does that not make complete and natural sense? That is the entire point of "staging."

In his story, there would be no need to wear gloves. If he was really having a "date" with Meredith. I've never had a date with someone wearing burglar gloves, and on top of that the date wears gloves all around the house on indoors. So we can't really go by his stories.

He was not wearing gloves, IMO.

He drank juice that he found in the refrigerator at both Meredith's and the lawyers' offices. Clothes were thrown on the floor in both (the lawyers' jackets were on the floor in Brocchi's descriptions about the glass fragments.

I certainly see a parallel in using a metal grill on a 1st floor window to reach a 2nd story window, and using a metal grill on a 1st floor door to reach a 2nd story window.

I don't understand the logic. He didn't wear gloves because he expected to be hauled in and the gloves would have interfered with his date story? Or do you believe the date story and that's why you think he wouldn't have worn gloves?

IMO he was wearing gloves at the lawyers' office and at the cottage, hence no finger prints at either place, except a single palm print where Meredith was molested.

You said that he would have had to take his gloves off (if he had any) according to his story of touching Meredith. My point was that his whole story was false re: the date, so why should we pick and choose certain parts of his story to believe? In other words, if we believe the part about how he touched Meredith, then logically one would believe his larger story, i.e. the date. And my point was, that in his date story, he would have no need for gloves. I guess what I am saying is that I find it interesting how can someone pick and choose which parts of his story to believe? No, I don't believe his date story and if one part of his story is false, likely other parts are false, too.

I think a parallel is being made between the tools organized in a neat row, and the window sill pile of glass in Filomena's room, which Ron Hendry called in his analysis "almost neat and orderly".

Thank you, yes, that was the original connection that had me search out Brocchi's testimony.

What about his DNA in other places like the purse, the cuff of sweatshirt, etc.? Also there is the palmprint.

Was the lawyer office tested for fingerprints?

We misunderstood each other. I was not referring to Rudy's story of "fooling around" with Meredith, but the DNA evidence of himself inside of her, and the untested semen near her.

I did mention "testimony" but I looked it up and what I was referring to was only attributed to Rudy, not a part of his testimony.

So, IMO he wore gloves throughout the break in and attack, up until the point when he left his DNA inside her.

Those seem like two totally different things to me. Yes, Ron Hendry also said "for reasons only Rudy knows," so I can see that he tried very hard to figure out a logical way Meredith was murdered.

It would make sense if he organized the clothes in a neat way, shirts folded, stacked neatly.....that would be a better comparison to the tools. Or, he organized the items on Filomena's table neatly. Or...well as we see there is no evidence that he was really anywhere else. Large bathroom - mess in toilet. Meredth bedroom - mess. Everywhere we have evidence of, he made a mess. There is nothing orderly.

I don't see how the glass from a window he broke is compared to organizing tools.

DNA does not only come from fingers, obviously. And again, I believe he took off at least one glove for the purpose of molesting Meredith, leaving a palm print under her body.

The police did investigate the lawyers' break in, and I believe looked for finger prints at that time. They already had Rudy's prints on file, so either they did not find any, or they did, but suppressed that information for their own reasons.

Yes, I would agree that this parallel may be "in the eye of the beholder"; and had he left some of Filomena's items neatly lined up (say, the laptop closed and a few items precisely lined up) it would be more a mark of his modus operendi as they say.
