She spent 4 yrs in prison before the conviction was overturned.

Yes, I know that. But this isa. Retrial, therefore surely any previous time served wouldn't count? Plus if she is found guilty I doubt 4 measly years would even begin to cover it.

But you trust ours??

What I have learned from the OJ trial and Casey trial, and the Ramsey's crime is that USA judicial system is not about the truth, it's about money, influence and how much money you have.

Truth seems far behind. imo.

Not to mention that defendants are allowed to spew vicious lies (basically character assassination) about the victims with no proof whatsoever. Defendants are given more rights than the victims! :banghead:

... and rightly so. She should not have accused an innocent man of murder, but she did, and she suffered the consequences.

I just want to thank everyone for all the information that's been brought out here and which ever way this goes it was nice chatting with all of you.

I'm putting my grocery shopping off until tomorrow and will be going in the snow, but I've missed too many verdicts, gotta be here for this one.

Ditto! Thanks to everyone. Some posters' knowledge on this case was just astounding, and even otherwise, every poster contributed with their insight.

Also, I just want to say - I would not have had to think about it as much if not for the "other side." Really made me think hard about everything.

Hellmann was part of the same system though right?

The prosecutors get to appeal as well, thats why we are here. It very well could end in acquittal again.

Followed by another appeal

Absolutely.....and how the fears that victims had before getting murdered are generally not allowed in court. Hearsay.

PLUS the nice lifestyle allowed in a lot of prisons in the USA. Where is the real punishment? Gyms, college, libraries, good food...no hard labor etc etc.

I suspect that if the verdict is overturned, the prosecution will not appeal and the Supreme Court will confirm the decision. However, if the verdict is confirmed, then Knox and Sollecito might choose to drag this out some more ... although I'm not sure that there are any grounds left on which to appeal.

The Ramseys, oh yes the Ramseys! Imagine what people in other countries were saying about our judicial system for that tragedy....:banghead:

I totally agree!

It's been great! And a special thanks to everyone that disagreed with my opinions. It did force me to think...hard... And I appreciated it!

I'm wondering if someone made a time conversion error and that it should say that the next announcement will be at 2 PM

Verdict is now due at 4 pm est? Correct? Wonder why they all don't go out and get some dinner instead of sitting around? Something I don't get?

So y'all want Amanda in prison.

Same for Raffaele too?

I do believe part of what happens in Italian courts is politically-based. It's been written about long before the Kercher murder. Not all, part.

However, in this case, where is the evidence showing Amanda's presence in Meredith's BR during the murder? We know Amanda's DNA is in the apt. She lived there. She shared a bathroom with Meredith. What about the murder scene of Meredith's BR? Whose DNA was found on/in the victim? Whose fingerprints were in the room?

Another 2.5 hours?

I wonder what the meaning of a further 2 hour delay would be???

Long lunch, lots of red wine, then a long siesta?
