Angelina Jolie has made her first public appearance since telling the world about her double mastectomy.

The 37-year-old actress was greeted with rapturous applause and cheers as she arrived on the red carpet with fiancé Brad Pitt at the London premiere of his film World War Z today.
Jolie, who appeared in a floor-length black gown, thanked Pitt for his support and said she was pleased she had inspired discussion about breast cancer.

She looks so thin. I hope she makes a full recovery - on the TV news her movements looked stiff, like she was in pain :(

I think she looks like normal Angelina. Does anyone know how long it's been since her surgery?

She would have had multiple surgeries. I think she started treatment in February but it concluded in April.

In the Times op-ed, titled "My Medical Choice," Jolie said she finished three months of medical procedures at the Pink Lotus Breast Center in California on April 27 that included the mastectomies and reconstruction.

She's always been slim, but her arms looked thinner than usual imo.

Angelina Jolie Celebrates 38th Birthday With Brad Pitt, Six Kids Over Dinner in Berlin

http://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity...ad-pitt-six-kids-over-dinner-in-berlin-201356
Angelina Jolie turned 38 on Tuesday, June 4, and the superstar celebrated an especially poignant birthday with her seven favorite people in Berlin: Fiance Brad Pitt and their children Maddox, 11, Pax, 8, Zahara, 8, Shiloh, 7 and twins Vivienne and Knox, 4. After Jolie joined Pitt, 49, on the week's third red carpet event for his flick World War Z, the Oscar-winning actress changed out of a stunning Ralph & Russo strapless white crepe creation into another sexy look for an en masse dinner at Japanese eatery Kuchi.

Wearing a sleeveless black mini-dress, Jolie (who's newly out and about after months of seclusion following a talked-about preventative double mastectomy) appeared in good spirits as the famous family headed into the restaurant for some birthday eats.

If you compare the first photo in the above link to this picture, you'll see why I think she's looking thin. I don't think it's out of her control or anything, I just hope her recovery is going smoothly behind the scenes.

I'm really glad she has gone public with this. My mom had breast cancer at the age of 35. I am 32 and have been getting regular mammograms and lumps biopsied. Since my mid twenties. A few years ago my surgeon asked my mom to do the gene testing. We met with the gene counselor and it was very interesting. I think she said they have only really mapped out a small percentage of all of these things. She said that if my mom did not have that gene mutation, it doesn't mean she doesn't have any breast cancer mutations, it just means she doesn't have one they have found yet. After that we weren't sure what we wanted the results to be. On one hand, we didn't want that mutation, but on the other hand at least we would know and could do something. She got the results, she does not have it. If she did, I would've been tested next. If I had it, I would've had my breasts and ovary removed as well. Yes, "ovary". One already has been removed because it twisted. Ouch. My breasts and I have never been great friends. If they tried to kill me,they're outta here.
