Ann Curry OUT as co-host of Today.....

Thanks for the feedback, 21merc7 and Knox. I'm gonna stick with GMA also. The show Friday was such fun to watch and I love that Amy robach has joined the show. Haha ,take that NBC!

People are outraged at the way Anne Curry was treated. Read to comments on this article from Huffington Post. In unofficial ratings, GMA beat NBC this week!

IMPO, NBC should rehire Anne for TODAY, move Lester Holt from weekends to weekdays, move Savannah back to doing what she did well as political, legal coorespondent, move Hoda Kotb to the first three hours with Anne, Lester, and Natalie, and lastly, move Natt(I mean Matt) to the 4th hour w/ KLG so that they can talk over one another! LOL! That would be a HOOT!

And Al....well I would prefer some smart and funny and handsome man delivering my morning weather (GMA has one), so Al would just do the morning weather on TWC . :D

Sigh......if only I were a NBC programmer, I could save their ratings! LOLs!!!

my opinion

I would have rather NBC replace Matt Lauer with Lester Holt and keep Ann Curry. She is so much more intelligent that ML. I hated it with Katie left now looks like NBC has screwed up again. IN MY OPINION.

Hi Knox and Everyone!:seeya:

Here are the Neilson results that were released yesterday, 7-16.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/...thrie-ratings_n_1677190.html?utm_hp_ref=media

"GMA" drew an average of 4.57 million viewers, compared with 4.21 million for "Today," according to preliminary ratings released Monday by the Nielsen Co.

People sound really pizzed about the way Ann Curry was ousted from the comments at link and rightfully so! I read someone on another board who said they sent a box of Curry powder to NBC. I thought that was funny, LOL!

I wish Charlie and Diane would come back to GMA along with Robin. Let Today hang itself, lol!

I especially always loved Charlie. He is so comforting and dependable-sounding, lol. Like Walter Cronkite was when I was a kid.

Matt Lauer Reportedly Getting Yelled At Over Ann Curry

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/12/27/matt-lauer-ann-curry-abuse_n_2371476.html

Matt Lauer is reportedly upset that people are yelling at him in public over Ann Curry's ouster from "Today," according to TMZ on Thursday.

The site reported that sources said Lauer is "miserable" and "freaked out" over things that people have screamed at him in the street, like, "You're a bad guy," and "You got Ann fired. Does that make you happy?" ............more at link........

I always liked Ann Curry...remember the day she started reading the news...she was so much more 'human' than the others...hardly watch any TV news now since I have the internets...lol....

"Ann Curry 'not allowed to appear live on NBC' as she continues to battle network to be released from her contract"

"Ann Curry has been banned from appearing live on NBC and is only allowed to do pre-recorded interviews, sources revealed today."

"The presenter, who was dropped by the Today show last year, is now a correspondent for NBC News."

"Despite her great relationships with celebrities including Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, network bosses continue to sideline Curry."

"It is also alleged Curry's frosty manner towards former co-host Matt Lauer has not improved her relationships with those in charge at NBC."

"Curry is being not-so-quietly courted by CNN as her former boss Jeff Zucker has taken over the cable channel and wants to replace Anderson Cooper's 8pm show with her familiar face."

"The 56-year-old journalist officially needs approval from NBC to be released from her multi-year contract before going on the air for another network."

Savannah Guthrie was a poor choice to replace Ann Curry. She has no interviewing skills and needs scripted questions to get her through the process. If the response to one of her questions doesn't make sense, SG has no skills at recovery and simply moves on to the next question on her notecards. I figure that Savannah was added to the Today team as eye-candy because that's essentially all she has to offer. I wish that SG would learn to stand without crossing her feet. She always looks like she has to pee. :moo:

I'd like to see Anderson Cooper with Ann Curry in that NBC time slot.

The powers that be have made some bad choices.

I was disappointed to read that Matt Lauer didn't like Ann, and that was the reason for her leaving.

Matt's not looking like such a dreamboat to me, anymore.

ETA: Well, I tried to post a link for the story of Matt not liking Ann (it's all over the place if you search), but in it's spot plopped some story about penny stocks. ??

anyone else hear the rumors that Aonderson Cooper has been approached to replace Matt???

Studio 1A was a very unhappy -- and unfriendly -- place for Ann Curry in her final, embattled year at the TODAY Show. Media reporter Brian Stelter sheds surprising new light on Curry's infamously messy June 2012 exit from the NBC morning show in his book Top of the Morning: Inside the Cutthroat World of Morning TV, excerpted Thursday online in the New York Times Magazine. (Curry, 56, started with TODAY back in 1997, but ascended to the co-anchor chair in June 2011 after Meredith Vieira's voluntary exit.)

"A lot of time in the control room was spent making fun of Ann's outfit choices or just generally messing with her," one staff person told Stelter. According to the same staffer, back in spring 2012, employees openly mocked Curry's bright yellow dress worn during one broadcast -- photoshopping a picture of Big Bird next to Curry, asking the team to vote, "Who Wore it Best?" The Us Weekly-inspired joke was posted in the control room.
