For those of you who don't want to buy the Dixie Chick's newest CD's anymore... here is a group that has their sound but not their big mouths. LOL

They're called The Wreckers and if you are familiar with Michelle Branch the group is made up of her and her friend. You can listen to two of their songs here...

Just click on jukebox.

I always loved Michelle Branch and I have wondered what happened to her.

I went to their site and listened to a couple of song, I like them, and I do not like Country music at all!

Tomorrow I'm going to best suy to see if they carry their new CD.
Thanks for turning me on to them!

I don't see why they can't be records, but you are right, of course: we play Campbell's CDs. He did a show at a theater in Melbourne where a friend of mine often directs. They didn't work on the same show, but I'm hoping she met him and will have lots of stories when I see her again.
His Dad is famous, Jimmy Barnes...legendry here in Oz, though I never liked him lol, he screamed too much for my liking.
His band Cold Chisel were huge.

You're welcome. The other girl sounds a LOT like Michelle Branch and they harmonize so well. I went to buy the CD at the store my hubby works at but they don't have it for some reason. I think I'll order it though. It sounds really good from the two songs I've heard.

I watched the Dixie Chicks try to redeem themselves for a few minutes last night (that is all I could take of them), but wasn't at all impressed. I don't care for their attitude at all!

While they have had a good showing it is still way below what their last album sold during the same period of time. I'm personally happy I'm not the only one not buying their album this time around!

http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1533230/20060531/dixie_chicks.jhtml?headlines=true

It's safe to assume that at least some Dixie Chicks fans have forgiven and forgotten, as 526,000 copies of Taking the Long Way sold its first week out.

While first-week sales of the band's 2002 album, Home, were considerably stronger at 780,000

My husband had to catch a 6:00 flight this morning, so of course I was up at 4:30, watching television. They played the Dixie Chick's video for "Not Ready to Make Nice" and its good. They're very talented. Its not my kinda music, so I wouldn't be going to out to buy the CD. Hopefully, they can use their voices for good instead of evil one day. It would be a good thing. :)

Indeed.

Time calls the album "perhaps the best adult pop album of the year."

Entertainment Weekly gave it a rare "A."

(Time also listed 8 or 10 other musical acts who have made comments both here and abroad at least as "radical" as the Chicks and without so much fuss.)

We just bought the new CD and it is great. I wonder if there will be protests once their tour starts in July? Anyone here planning to protest? If they come through here and I'm not working, I'll go. (Though not to protest.)

I wouldn't protest them. They've got a right to say what they want.

OK I just read LKL last night!!! Now can someone please find what Reba said after Maines in Engalnd remark qwas made. I know the Toby thing but WTF???
MAGUIRE: Reba and Toby were two people that went out of their way to bash us, when we were under so much fire, so it hurt, because I was a huge Reba fan growing up, and I still am. It was personal for me, when I felt like she went out of the way to say negative things about us.

I was going to ask that, too, and forgot. I don't remember Reba saying anything??

I personally don't believe Reba ever said anything about them. If she had, she never would have made the comment she did at the awards show.

JMO...
