Anthony's in Denial? Why Stand by Casey? POLL ADDED Part#2

Denial? NO WAY!! They know. I'm wondering these days if they've known since early on. Certainly they've suspected--we know this from the video interviews. Cindy and KC are two peas in a pod, thinking that if they can spew their lies long and loud enough that the public will surely believe them.
It's also tiresome to hear how they've lost Caylee and now they are gonna lose their daughter. Uh...No they aren't. She might be locked up but she's still alive. I'm sure they correspond via snail mail, and no matter the sentence, they will be able to visit her for many years to come.

Yep! They knew since after the first 911 call.

(AEB: CA asking KC, "What have you done," and LA telling KC that LE would force her to take them to Caylee. )

Nope. Caylee's father has NOTHING to do with the crime. He hasn't been around for four years. KC may not even know who he is.

The BIG secret is that the family has been hiding KC's sociopathic crimes.

Yes, that is interesting--as a father of two wonderful girls (young women now) and two boys, we knew who our children were with, where they were going, exactly what was happening in school and beyond--and took them to church all their lives. It wasn't that we were overly protective or nosey--it was because it was our job.
We are very fortunate in how all have grown and what they are doing but it was not an accident.

Regarding the missing credit at school, and I have the benefit of posting 11 months after your post, after 1000"s more pages of testimony and ITA. What still rings true, is that by their own assorted and varied admissions, they were completely uninvolved in their daughters education.
They were also uninvolved in her finances, taxes etc. per one or more depositions. Never saw, never asked.
Ignored the female problem.

I voted all of the above in the poll but think the denial started when KC was little and they stopped parenting her because it was hard work. Stopped going to parent- teacher interviews and school events because they didn't want to hear what the teachers would say and bullying and yelling got them nowhere.
There's so many examples of them dropping the ball at crucial moments

Yep,they met the Milsteads and saw an opportunity IMO.They could turn their tragedy into a new career for the entire family.Look at the M's lifestyle.Surely they could do as well.As victims they could probably do even better.........
The A's are in for a rude awakening.

Yep! That gravy train will only last as long as the interst in the case lasts.

When the public moves on to something else (like, another big crime) they'd better have saved some of that blood money.

Deep down I think there are things about the family they don't want to get out.Things that probably go way back.They know KC would turn on them unless they try to help her.I think she will turn on them anyway.
I voted none of the above.They are protecting themselves.

Dysfunctional families are closed-system, because they don't want anyone to find out that they are dysfunctional. The prime directive is to appear Ozzie-and-Harriet normal.

The problem is that such families are so inappropriately secretive and protective, that that advertise it.

All my friends thought my dad was crazy. And, they were right!

I chose "denial", and I think the resulting coverup by the Anthony family is because they feel justified in doing anything to save Casey (since none of them can bring themselves to come to terms with the fact that Casey did this to her daughter).

Deep, deep denial is shown in the recently released transcripts- they aren't even sure the body found practically right by their house is dear Caylee.

Also, on Cindy's part, I suspect she can't stand anyone thinking her family is less than perfect. She is in denial and feels covering up is completely justifiable. JMO.

Cindy and George could have done so much better for themselves and for Casey if they'd suffered through this Gawdawful situation with quiet dignity rather than displaying their belligerent, arrogant and defiant sides. It's too late for them now because we all know who and what they are, but they COULD have had a great deal of sympathy from the general community had their behavior been different.

They like being "celebrities," too much.

There IS no quiet dignity. This family is all about drama.

They know Caylee is dead, and KC killed her. They are even wearing Caylee's ashes.

This is their latest ploy for a "defense."

But, agree that CA's main drive to present a "perfect" (more perfect than people ever are) picture of her family.

Apart from not calling 911 immediately on opening the car in the tow yard, I've never understood, if not for the sake of tampering with evidence or covering something up, why the A's wouldn't have trashed every single thing in that car that had been exposed to the stench.
They threw away the donated toys, strangers left for the third birthday Caylee never got because they reeked of smoke supposedly. The pretend 'work' pants get washed however. Like Tide can wash that odor away.
I can't get around that inconsistency.

Throwing away the toys and tearing down the shrines kept them in control of Caylee. Even in the grave, there was control of Caylee. MOO

I absolutely agree that the Anthony family was not involved in her education, but I am not absolutely convinced it would have done much. People with her type of personality disorder/s are very, very difficult to deal with - sometimes the more helicoptering, the more they don't cooperate. There are many good parents who basically give up trying to help sociopaths or borderlines because they are so resistant to involvement. I think that the personality disorders of her parents did not help matters either. CA seems the type that wants to rescue KC by making excuses for her, and then reserves the right to berate and verbally abuse her for needing rescuing. The two of them are in a sick, competitive, symbiotic relationship - or were. I doubt either of them ever outlive it.

I have also wondered about some family secret. They always seemed to push everyone away from the family home from what we have seen. No family or friends seem to run in & out. Why?

Surely they couldn't have immediatly jumped in with the idea that this would solve the financial problems? Later maybe but not so soon

But some times the secrets are secret. These people are good at what they do, you know that, Brini! My mother played her "selfless" role her entire life and everyone outside of our house fell for it. We were made to look like the bad guys, not her. And she was good at it, making us look ungrateful and lazy and unworthy of her love. She worked so hard for her family :crazy: . I remember yelling at her once.. "you are such a sick selfish b!tch" (after she had just sold my sister Oxycontin when she'd just gotten out of rehab!) while living in an apartment.. the upstairs neighbor heard and was shocked at my "horrible" attitude towards my "wonderful and selfless" mother.

Many times the secrets remain secrets and the sane members of the family are made to look like the psychos.

When my Mom was dying, some relatives came to stay. My sister had filled them in on Dad's behaviors.

They didn't believe a WORD of it, until they were in the house, for a couple of days. It was a rough initiation for them. Changed ALL of their perceptions, going back decades.

When neighbors came over to console my Dad, he'd act like honey wouldn't melt in his mouth, in front of them. Of course, they were NEIGHBORS. They had HEARD the yelling, coming from the house.

For awhile after that, my Uncle felt guilty-- like he should have seen and known, and protected Mom. I told him to lose it.. there was NO way he was ever gonna get past that wall of secrecy that the family presented.

I have never thought they were in denial. It's more a case of total arrogance and disdain for anyone who challenges her on Cindy's part- George was at first willing to discuss events fairly truthfully as they had happened, and he was in shock more than denial at the beginning, but Cindy's attitude has always been "How DARE anyone question me !- then that filtered down to George.

Well said, Zsa Zsa, Her control of everything is paramount to her being, even if it means destroying the "truth" about Caylee.

She fuels herself, by what she thinks is a win, in all these little battles, but ultimately will lose the WAR..........

CA isn't on the boat cruising down the river of denial. She wants me to think that is her destination but she can't fool me.

Say on or about June 9, 08 when she boarded the boat down to the river of coverup she changed the signage for all to read "river of denial". She made sure the signs were pretty darn large and she shouted at every stop and in front of every camera where that boat docked.

She wasn't then and sure as I sit here typing isn't about to switch the signs back now. She's had that trip ticket punched out and there's no going back to making it whole again. Can't be undone.

She has made every advance possible to bully, manipulate, deflect and use her infamous semantics to steer herself and KC towards being the "wronged" individuals in Caylee's murder.

She claims she sees herself and KC as victims. They are only victims of their own lies. The only truth that I have seen come from CA's lips is the fact that she is the mother of KC and LA and that LE/FBI have confirmed it through forensics. Every word/sentence from CA's lips, is in my humble opinion, a lie. Stories ...... fabricated to protect her ego and self image.

I've said it before, and I will say it again. Life is not a rehearsal. There are NO do-overs, second time around. A moment is here only once; then it is gone -- forever. Cindy, Casey, George and Lee will at one point in time and moment have to face Caylee and ask for forgiveness.
