strange . . . the obituary says placed by family. Folks signed the online guestbook. So, how can he be unclaimed?


The only Ernest Appleton's I'm finding were born in the UK in different years.

Mr. Appleton’s church members arranged his burial; he was known to many members in the community. His Next of Kin is still unknown.

How far off is the DOB year

Adding a few bits I found on Mr. Appleton. I wasn't able to find an SSDI listing, but his obituary does have a posting by an Atward P. who wrote "you were my friend. You always will be ..." and is listed as a Security Guard for Northside United Methodist Church. It looks like in the past, Ernest Appleton was the custodian of Northside Methodist Preschool in Atlanta, GA where in September of 1995, the Childcare Information Exchange published an appreciation of custodial and janitorial staff that had this excerpt:

We always think of Ernest Appleton as our friend, not just a custodian. He is a Prince of a Fellow.
