That news angers me!

Wow, I can't believe they haven't interviewed all of her neighbors and even neighbors in the adjoning blocks. That's unreal. And I would definitely think that the construction workers would have been some of the first ones questioned, especially since they were working on a house directly behind her. That's very strange.

I have been told that a bracelet was taken from Ms. Pressly.

1. Has anyone else heard if a bracelet was taken? If so, maybe the perp/s took it as some sort of trophy.

2. I have also heard that something was carved in her face....I know there is someone in this forum that has sources in the hospital and in LE, can you confirm.

Thanks in advance to any local that can help me out with the questions.

As if this crime wasn't horrible enough...if this is true (along with all the other rumors) this is beyond cruel and disgusting. My heart hurts for this family. God bless Anne for her valiant fight.

I have been physically sick for weeks over this. It is truely horrible. I hate to say it (dang, i say that a lot) but from my own expereinces with LE, NOT checking all the possible leads, witnesses, angles, etc. is sadly not uncommon.

the only thing i am thinking is that possibly LE has enough idea of what happened and who did it that further interviews like that aren't necessary (if thats a good idea or not i dont know). But if evidenc they do have points in another direction, that could be the reason. i assume there is a good bit of evidence not disclosed. for better or worse it effects how whe think about the case. We can postulate different things based on what has been reported (sometimes contradictory) or rumored/heresay. But without more its hard to say. i pray this is resolved sooner rather than later, or not at all.

About 5 miles according to MapQuest...and 10 minutes which is what I estimated several posts ago.

Sorry I missed your original post about the mileage. (Which is what I estimated several posts ago).

It angers me too. I live in Little Rock.
Me too. I remember when this first happened there was talk about a vacant house with construction workers right behind Anne's. It saddens me to know that they have not even been questioned. It seems to me like police should be questioning everyone around that area. Like CL, I'm hoping the police have enough information and leads so that further interviews aren't necessary.

Kathee - I have heard something about carvings in her face. I only heard that one time and then never heard anything more, so I don't know. I certainly hope that rumor is false.

Also, I heard something else yesterday from a family friend who lives on her street. After Anne had been in the hospital for several days, they had been told she had another stroke, and that is what ultimately made her pass. I guess that would explain why reports said she was improving, but the next day she died.

(bold mine) I sincerely hope you are right Carla, since this is the only comforting, or certainly acceptable, explanation. Sorry this is bringing up so many bad memories for you. I experienced the terror of domestic violence (ie being thrown to ground and kicked repeatedly in head from which point I've had many ensuing problems) but never by a stranger, rather my new husband. But I have never experienced this brand of sadistic torture, I am sure God in His mercy took her so she will never have to relive this. JMO

I'm sorry you had anything happen to you. I had it bad. I made it, but my sister didn't. So I have to live with the guilt of living. This case just really hits so close to home. Since I don't remember much from my attack, this sort of fills in blanks. I have just fixated on it. I have problems from my attack, which was about 7 years ago but seems like 7 seconds ago. I suppose I feel somehow a connection here. And it is a way i can grieve too. It just hurts.

Kiki and Carla LaShelle:

I'm so sorry you've both had to go through those terrible experiences but I'm glad you survived. Carla LaShelle, losing your sister along with being attacked has to be in your mind always. I hope that man is no longer your husband, Kiki.

May you both have the strength to overcome these horrendous acts.

...snip... I'm the one that posted the rumor that they threw the purse in that park and the person who used the card may not be the attacker..snip...

I thought I was doing a pretty good job of following this thread, hpw did I miss that post??! I posted twice about the same thing, that I believe the gas station man may be a thief, not a murderer. It is possible LE has even cleared him. All those cameras and nothing?? With the price of gas a purse with a credit card might tempt a petty thief. More likely I am crazy, probably just sleep and oxygen deprived.

I can not believe that video cameras did not get at least a pic of the car or even a license tag. With the # of drive off's at the pump, video cameras are of more importance than ever b4.

Very early on someone (from the gas station?) had been on TV saying they had the best surveillence set up you could get and it would show everything...

I find it odd that if her purse was dumped somewhere and then someone found it and took her card to buy gas, that it would all happen within the stated "20 mins" time frame. I mean like would the killer take the purse, go across town to the park, dump her purse somewhere (it is still dark out) and then someone else finds the purse, gets the card and goes to the gas station, again all within a short period of time. I can see finding a stolen purse in daylight whith a lot of people around, but at night/early morning in a park... not sure.

I am really sad to hear about your sister. The 'survivor guilt' is inevitable, I suppose, no matter how many times you hear others tell you, on a rational level, that you of course were not responsible in any way and that there's nothing you could have done to prevent it... so I don't feel like it's helpful repeating the same thing (I guess I just did, sorry). Though unrelated to my assault, I also lost my brother... in a traumatic way, to be sure... and have dealt w tremendous guilt over that despite not being present so only saying we will, I think, in any situation on some basic level bear some guilt... But I know that doesn't compare to the burden of being right there (((hug))) It's hard to believe next September 11th, it will be 10 years... because, as you say, the terror can replay with an intensity of yesterday. I've had severe memory problems (one of numerous complications, including temporal lobe seizures, cognitive impairment etc) so maybe the survivor's inability to recall details, or specifics of their attack, is a blessing in disguise. And I agree, hearing these stories allows us to work through some of that fear, and to grieve. Anyway it is the evil, I believe, we relate to in Anne's, and others', experiences since once you've encountered evil, if you're like me, you want to put a face on it, to recognize and see it coming, and get the h#[[ out of the way. The other merciful thing in Anne's case is that she did not yet have children who would have to go on w/out their mother. I praise God for every day I'm still able to be here for mine. Tragedies teach us tomorrow is not promised, that we can not take a single day for granted, and therefore to lavish our love on those around us. And that wisdom can not be purchased, or come by secondhand, it comes only at the cost of tears. God bless you.

First, my sympathy and prayers for you. :blowkiss: I too have questions about this scenario and to me it does seem highly unlikely. The only people I could imagine in the park at that hour might be the homeless who wouldn't be buying gas for a car either. And why dump her purse in a park and not just throw it in a dumpster after going through it? I hope LE does have a good idea who is responsible for this horrendous attack and finds them ~ soon.
