Police searching for missing 66-year-old Arkansas woman
According to police, the family has tried to call her phone, but the phone is turned off.

Police have also tried to trace her phone, but they are unable to get a precise location since the phone is off.

The fact that her car is still missing is alarming. So either its in a body of water, or crashed into the woods, or was stolen and is hidden somewhere. None of these options is good.

Family members don't believe Hampton left home on her own, either. Mathena said Hampton hadn't been driving in the weeks leading up to her disappearance.

By just scanning the comments under the MPCN post on Annie, it is evident there are a lot of people who are concerned & praying that she is found soon and there is closure for her family.

Did she live alone? Wonder when the last time was that someone actually talked to her? Did someone normally check on her at night if she lived alone?
The neighbor saw her, was it unusual for Annie to be outside at that time of morning?

Is waiting a certain length of time like in this instance 12 hours before being able to file a MP report normal?


Hampton’s daughter, Nicketa Mathena, questioned how police handled the investigation into her disappearance from day one.

“I feel like they’ve failed her within those first 48 hours,” Mathena said. “It should have never been a matter of waiting 12 hours, which was going to be 10 p.m. before you filed a missing person’s report, when you were notified of her medical condition.”

The family says that was a critical time to get information.

unfortunately, there’s not any homeless shelters I’m aware of in Marianna. It only has a population of about 3000 or so...pretty rural, much like a lot of the state’s area.


ETA: unless she somehow made it to the LR area...
