JACKSON COUNTY, Ark. (KAIT) - The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office needs the public’s help finding two missing teenagers.

The sheriff’s office said in a news release on Monday that Ashley Darlene Walls, 17 and Matthew Alan Morrison, 18, were reported missing on Saturday.

The two had been out on a day trip in a rural area of the county and nobody has been able to get ahold of them since.

Deputies said phone records showed their phone were last active between the Jackson/Woodruff County line and Poplar Bluff, Missouri during Sunday morning.

The two were last seen wearing Newport High School themed clothes and were driving a sliver 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer with handicapped license plates.

Region 8 News spoke to the Lt. Travis Engler with the sheriff’s office who said they are investigating all possibilities into the teen’s disappearances.

He went on to say they have exhausted all of their leads in this case.

If you know their whereabouts, you are asked to call Lt. Engler at 870-523-5842.

"Poplar Bluff is a small city in Butler County in Southeast Missouri, United States. It is the county seat of Butler County and is known as "The Gateway to the Ozarks" among other names."

Also: "Poplar Bluff takes its name from a bluff that overlooks the Black River."

[Source: wikipedia]

I wonder if they went into the Ozarks. Or if the Bluff was a destination.

I hope they are found soon.

Are one of the teens handicapped?
(Or does it belong to a family member?)

They left around noon on Saturday for a "day trip."

They didn't return that night.

Both their phones were active near Poplar Bluff, Missouri "early Sunday morning."

Where did they sleep?

How early on Sunday morning?

I'm wondering if they stopped to sleep at all. So many questions.

1. Curious about jurisdiction in this case, and who reported them missing first: his family or hers?

2. No mention of these two being missing on their high school's Facebook page or website. It's a very large high school that serves the community of Newport. I'm assuming they live in Newport or are zoned for Newport schools.

3. Very little online presence from either of them.

Just thinking aloud and hoping they are found soon.

A car accident is always a possibility, sadly.

But car accidents get media. If a car accident had happened, someone would have done a google search I think. I wish there was more coverage on this. :(

Great news. Perhaps they decided to extend their trip and didn't think of notifying their families?

Glad they are safe, but holy smokes a "day trip" turned into ending up in South Dakota? Wonder what the plan was?

Wow. That’s quite the day trip.
Wonder how they were found? By debit card trail or if they contacted someone.
