This is bothering me! I typed in steveoh29 on google, went to images and this video on youtube of "how to operate a lockbox" popped up in images. Can someone on a pc check this link and see if he made comments? I'm on my phone and can't view comments...maybe there are none?

Haven't read everything new yet but wanted to weigh in on the real estate scams since I've had several of my listings fall victim to them. One typical one is when a property is on the market for lease, usually they pick a higher priced lease (mine was at $10k/month listed in MLS and in all portals) and the scammers from out of area create a mirror listing of yours, using your photos and verbiage, and offer it on Zillow, Craig's list, etc for an extremely low (irrestitable) price. In this case, $1000/month. Which is unheard of in this area where the home was. So they are then inundated with incredulous potential tenants all eager to offer and get in on it first. Scammers then say they have so many offers that they will not show it until prospective tenant sends 3 mos advance rent with offer. That one and variations are common. This house Beverly showed however was not for lease that i know of and to shift the status on trulia or Redfin or wherever to a lease... might call attention not be practical time wise for a scammer to get it done.

Another that could apply is the vacant house - also a leasing scam. I had one, no longer on the market, that a developer client had bought to remodel and flip. He was waiting for permits. It was again in a great neighborhood, gated and fairly uninhabitable as it was -but one night he went there to store something in the garage and saw the light of a tv coming from the window! (it was a teardown fixer, no furniture) went to the door and a large man answered claiming to be "the tenant" (whom we later discover to be a former convict w/gun related charges). And...he produced a standard template, signed lease.

The lease form anyone can buy and the person claiming to be the agent of the owner -who hooked him in -had a false name, tel number and address - none of them were existent. The "tenant" in this case was also told he needed to give $$ in advance of move in, this time 6 mos cash - again at a very reduced rent rate - think the scammer got @$20k off of him and fled. Tenant had no idea the guy was a fraud it appears. He had been there about a month already and had a son living with him. It was tough... We had to go to court eventually and have Marshall's evict him and remove him from the property since he refused to leave. He was out the cash.

The trick in this one, and how it could tie in to Beverly's case is that the scam artist needs to be able to access the doors for keys and possess a strong locksmithing skill. Which fits. Although mine was was gated, there were ways to get in if you were clever. He obviously made a key and handed it over after the fake contract was signed. BUT you wouldn't need a realtor to show the house if you could make a key yourself. The Old River Rd house was not gated, but readily accessible. So why call Beverly? That's my question in that scenario.

There are many more variations, but at the end of the day, my gut keeps saying that AL was doing somebody else's dirty work here and was a convenient hired hand. Not a mastermind. With just enough bravado and penchant for reckless behavior he would make an attractive proxy. MOO.

I don't think calling Beverly for a showing was random or a way to gain access to a vacant house so easy to approach, even for a clumsy criminal like AL! JMO though

true... whatever his scam was, it seems he needed something from BC to carry it out.
It would have been much easier to just steal the key and lockbox.

BC was not a tiny woman. Now don't get me wrong I am not saying she was fat. However, I think it was reported that she weighed around 150lbs. So this is just me thinking out loud. If he used a stun gun then she would be dead weight and he didn't weigh a lot more than that himself, so I don't think he was able to move her alone. Whether or not you believe CL was involved, she is pretty tiny, so I don't think she would have been much help in moving a body. So like some of you, I think someone else was involved and I believe likely a male.

I thought he was a hacker of sorts. He said in his TV interview that he bet many people had charges in their card for purchases he made. Or something to that effect. So I think it varies by account type and bank. On some business accounts it is higher. I just can't see an elaborate plan like this for such a small amount of money. Heck he has no problem stealing. He could have stolen goods and sold them for more than that.

I know we are all just trying to figure it all out. I just hope we don't have to wait years to get the real reason but I bet we will. If at all.

In Yukon, OK. Realtor robbed during open house. 2 men. One distracted realtor while the other stole items from her car.
Maybe AL planned to do something like this?

Thes are the most common realtor crimes in my area - the open house ones- and although it has never happened to me I've heard many many accounts of open house robberies. Everything from cash to jewelry to prescription drugs (a big one) and even flat screens. They work in groups, one keeps the realtor busy in an upstairs room while the other is offloading a flat screen out a window downstairs! It's insane. One Realtor was killed here years ago at an open house in a robbery. Guy rang bell - posed as a delivery man purportedly bringing her lunch and said her office had ordered it for her. She was holding an open house behind a locked door, a very rare thing. Sadly I suspect this type of crime will be on the rise as more people are struggling financially.

Talulla, not quoting you but I would edit your ATM limit out just for privacy/ security issues... This is public and the kind of place hackers and scammers might peruse for info.

Also, good point on AL possibly needing more braun to carry a dead weight body out the door. Also explains the "wide open front door" from one news account.

But if you held them for days you could get money each day. Nobody said AL is smart. I agree this is a stretch and that there may be some other reason he took her but regardless I believe it was some sort of scam for money not a murder for hire. Maybe ransom?

Thinking, I had forgotten about the Samantha Koenig case. Israel Keyes tried to get ransom money from Sam's Father. He took a picture of her after she was deceased, and demanded money. He continued to do that for a few months after her disappearance. I don't have time to go into all the details of that right now. Could AL have planned something similar, a little far fetched, but maybe. Did any of you follow that case?

I see many people think there was a third person. Curious, do you think this person is a friend? Knows them both? Do you feel they will rat this person out? If no, why not? Now, if you don't think there is a third person, do you think it's just AL...AL/CL...or AL/mystery person or something else?

Sorry for so many questions. Curious at the thoughts of others.

Very good point, why hasn't AL ratted out the 3rd party yet if he was involved? I have no answers to that one - but it does poke a wee hole in the 3rd perpetrator theory.... Food for thought. Unless he/she is under surveillance or they don't have enough evidence to press charges... ??

I think that AL would rat out anyone IF it was beneficial to him. I mean he stole from his own mother. The thing I am stuck with is I see him as a thief, not a murderer.

Of course, then if there is someone else, and he has not ratted them out what would be the reason? I know in some cases people in AL's situation keep their mouth closed to get attorneys paid for, or to be taken care of once they are free again. But with his charges what is he gaining by staying quite. I don't think he could ever be loyal to anyone.

I wonder if someone else has been arrested and we just don't know it? Did we know CL was arrested because the media knew she was AL's wife? I don't believe for a second that AL wouldn't spill his guts about who was in on it by now. He may have even turned on CL during those early interviews. We didn't know when they talked to Trevor until later when LE said Trevor wasn't involved. We didn't know they talked to CL until she had been arrested and charged. Everything is sealed. I guess we could go through the daily mugshots and see if anyone else is arrested or has been arrested for kidnapping and murder. Unless the press finds out we won't know or unless an insider tells us.

This is what I've thought from the get-go. AL & BC were around the same weight! BC had recently lost some weight but even if she was 20 lbs lighter, AL had lost recently too. No way he could have carried her out alone.

My vote is for AL and a mystery person. I do not believe CL helped with a kidnapping or murder. JMO

I know I don't really care to view these interviews with AL, but I think there might be "some" truths hidden in with lies?

"I can say this much, we were already there," Lewis said.*

"At what point did you get there?" Shannon asked? "Was it that Thursday night?" Again, Lewis nods yes. *

Just wondering if there are ANY truths in these statements?

At least he buried her and didn't just throw her body in a ditch. I wonder what that says about what types of criminals bury their victims? Pondering....

According to LE there was nothing found to have happened at the house. Or is that what CCsr. said? If LE in fact stated that the house showed no signs of a struggle, perhaps BC wasn't killed there and didn't have to be carried. If someone stuck a gun in her back and said move, she would have moved. I'm guessing. I don't know anyone involved in this tragedy. "Get in my car or I'll kill you and your whole family." This would explain the open front door of the home. Her purse left in the car. And the ability of AL/CL or just AL getting her to go with him. My theory is weak, but I still think it could have been for ransom, but something happened before they could do the ransom. Maybe when he said it was an accident, what really happened is he had a gun in her back and "accidentally" pulled the trigger and panicked...It's still murder but he was trying to justify it as an accident. We've heard he had a gun and tazer. Or he could have tazered her and either put her in the trunk or had help. I think he would be able to get her in the trunk alone or with what little help CL would be. LE had marked spots behind BC's car at the site it was found. We don't know what was found there. Could have been cigarette butts, blood stains, stains that looked like they should be checked, anything. The timing of CL's arrest fit with a possible time fit to getting DNA results back.
