Um...tacos, roadsters, menopause and...peeing in pants??? And thats just this page! All I did was go eat dinner and look what happened here! ;) I'm no On Topic nazi but the place has gone loopy. :) I suppose this is an appropriate time to talk about the delicious pasta I just had?

Yeah, I was bad tonight. Hope I didn't offend anyone. I am normally on topic. I will try to stay focused from now on. Sorry if I offended anyone or wasting time babbling.

I was just kidding! I'm the last one to be offended by off topic. We barely have a topic here until AL files his next lawsuit. ;) We could try to guess what it might be... he may sue the prison cook for intolerable cuisine...

Being a newbie, I would just like to know if other cases that you guys have discussed have been this intriguing. I actually hate describing it using that word since this involves the murder of a precious woman.
But we have one VI, who is no longer here, who was giving information that doesn't quite match what we are now finding out. We have a defendant who is basically giving us what was suppose to be "sealed" information to the public. And then there is CL. Whom I personally believe is a total "passive" manipulator. We found out about the you know what site, which goes against everything the first VI told us, then the VI disappears.
I guess I am just in awe of the stupidity of these two people. All I can say is Holy Crap!

The Heather Elvis case, which also involves a married couple being charged with murder. However, most of the "intriguing" stuff happened before they were arrested because the wife couldn't keep her trap shut and was blabbing all over social media, etc. Now that they are behind bars, things are quiet while we wait for the trial. And still try to find the missing Heather :(.

VI -1 said she had "another " cell phone. The one she went to when LE confiscated her primary phone.
But my understanding was that it was an old phone and she had to go to the provider to get it activated - I remember a discussion about that possibility, and how long it would take to activate an old phone.

I think text messages will play a big part in this case too. They feel they have enough to bring this to trial in May without a body. Times sure have changed. Electronic devices and social media are playing big roles in todays trials. Imagine what may have happened if OJ and Kato K had cell phones back then. jmo

That is exactly correct. We had a big discussion. I myself have done it lots and lots of times. (Verizon) You have an older unactivated cell phone gathering dust in a drawer. If your newer phone breaks, is lost, etc....you can immediately go grab the other phone out of the drawer and either call in or do it yourself over the provider's website. Takes at most 5 minutes. That is the situation the VI was describing.

BUT - we had also brought up the possibility of there being a second "burner" phone, which is usually a pre-paid phone from Walmart, etc. They aren't tied to any accounts. I thought that if they were planning a big kidnapping for ransom scheme, that they would be smart enough to not use their own personal phones while commiting the crime.

I don't post much on this thread, but I read it every day. I'm still reeling from those court documents penned by AL. They are meticulous with perfect spelling. The dichotomy between his behavior/impulsiveness and intelligence is mind boggling....

He does his research. Notice how he cited all those other cases to support his claim?

Separate trials
Most significantly for Lowery in her five-minute court appearance was that chief deputy prosecutor John Johnson told the judge he has agreed to try her separately from her husband.

Her lawyers did not ask the judge to set a trial date but instead had him schedule her next appearance to coincide with Lewis' February date. They said they wanted to see what happens with Lewis' mental evaluation before scheduling trial.

Neither side would discuss trial strategy, but the Arkansas Rules of Criminal Procedure allow multiple defendants who share charges to be tried individually if one has confessed or implicated the other pretrial or if their defenses are antagonistic or mutually exclusive. Arkansas Supreme Court precedent also allows for separate proceedings when the evidence against one defendant is stronger than the evidence against another.

The rules also allow for separate trials for defendants whose constitutional right to speedy trial could be jeopardized by the time it takes to try all of them together or if pretrial publicity could taint the proceedings against one of them. http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=htt...pect-to-get-mental-test-20141204/&h=iAQH_Y9vN

Both Arron Michael Lewis attorney, James Hensley and Crystal Hope Lowery attorney Brett Qualls, have filed Discovery Motions. Those motions say that in part "Furthermore, the Prosecuting Attorney should disclose allevidence that is either material to the guilt or innocence of the defendant or relevant to the punishment imposed" and "The State is hereby put on notice that the defendant has the right to cross examine any witnesses that may submit reports
regarding evidence in this case." https://caseinfo.aoc.arkansas.gov/c...=P&case_id=60CR-14-3928&begin_date=&end_date=

Arron Lewis and Crystal Lowery are both charged in the same crime, same charge of Capital Murder and Kidnapping. They are codefendants, but because the Pros agreed, the Judge has severed the cases where trials are concerned. They will each have a separate trial.

The attorneys working together on discovery, from what I have seen in watching other trials.. and a bit of common sense.. just that getting all or as much discovery evidence as possible to plan and carry out the defense of their client. Crystal Lowery attorney only works for and looks out for Crystal. Same with Arron Lewis attorney. Sure they are gonna "work together" but each has their own agenda, if you will. ** Just my opinion, have no legal education or work experience

Guess that explains why he is trying to send her stuff to help her defense. Its more a "This is what I want you to say". If he can keep her on his side and thinking he is helping her, she wont roll on him. She is crazy if she dont look out for herself. jmo

AL was arrested and booked 9/30/2014

CL was questioned on 9/30/2014 *per media, **VI#1 and VI#2 stated CL was arrested
Court Docket shows arrest warrant on the Theft by Receiving served on 10/9/2014 and a P&A scheduled.

10/3/2014 (Friday date) " On Friday, the state Parole Board revoked Lewis’ parole, which he had been granted in 2013 after serving a year and a half of a six-year sentence for theft. He was later transferred from the Pulaski County jail and placed in the custody of the Arkansas Department of Correction. He is being held at the Ouachita River Correctional Unit in Malvern, a state prison spokesman said Saturday." (Ark Dem Gaz Oct 5, 2014 article prev linked)

Arron was processed at that facility and transferred to Tucker Max.

Per AL Indigent report dated 11/16/2014, in his Federal complaint against PCSO, he stated that his wife, gifted him $50 on Oct 14th ..... He was already at Tucker when his this was deposited on his account. The interview with KARK4 the first part aired the same date as the $ was applied. Not sure when the interview was ACTUALLY done, but according to this they showed it to the family and investigators earlier that day ..

"As a news organization it is our job to find the answers, so KARK4's Shannon Miller contacted this man, Arron Lewis and he agreed to an interview.

But earlier today we shared the entire interview with both the Carter family and investigators. Now it's your turn to hear directly from the man who's now charged with her murder."

I wonder what they had discovered or had in evidence that made them think she might still be alive? Do you think it is something AL said during the interrogation or do you think it was text messages or some other message or evidence they had? Like maybe a ransom demand? They had already charged him with kidnapping, before the discovery of her body...correct?

The way they asked for people to go look in sheds, etc makes me think he either wasn't saying anything or that he was playing stupid and acting like he had no idea.

Would he confess to kidnapping her and then claim he didn't know where she was located? Or was he just mute about the whole thing, although knowing what I know about him now, I don't beleive the word "mute" is anywhere in his vocabulary.....so this theory doubtful. He loves to run his mouth.

Maybe I am confused, but when did I say she was arrested for an affidavit in another case? I knew she was arrested for theft by receiving and again a month later for her current charges.

SO at perp walk IT WAS BEVERLY CARTER they showed him... (jmho)

LITTLE ROCK, AR - Around 5:30 a.m., Pulaski County Sheriff Doc Holladay spoke about the finding of Beverly Carter's body and the charges Arron
Lewis faces.

Hollday said investigators continued to search for Carter after Lewis was placed in jail. Her body was discovered Tuesday morning after midnight. Holladay said more details will be released at the 2 p.m. press conference on Tuesday.

After 6 a.m., Lewis was walked to a vehicle to be transported to the Pulaski Co. Jail.

Lewis said he did not kill Carter.

Our reporter, Shannon Miller asked Lewis, "Why Beverly?"

Lewis responded, "Because she was a woman that worked alone--a rich broker."

When asked what he would say to the family, he said sorry.
