The link with the additional information is tantalising!

I would be interested to know what direction on the interstate they were walking when they were last seen.

I worder if the backpack and bedding that they were seen with was ever found?

I think her male companion looks like Matt Thomas Amon...missing since the early 70s. Height, weight, and age range are the same...Scar on forehead...wrong eyecolor though (?)

I was glad when they did the article and photo gallery. I just sent all of the gallery photos to Pemiscott John's NamUs case worker along with the flier of both of them.

I don't think their belongings were found.

You should post him in Pemiscot John Doe's thread. Here's his Charley Project Matt Thomas Amon missing since 8/11/1971

John Holt has been the closest I've seen. See this post in Pemiscot John Doe's thread. He's been submitted, I'm not sure if he's been excluded so I sent an email to his case worker.

John Holt does fit the description..however, he was last seen in 1983...this case is from 1978.
The key to solving (kim) might be identifying the male. I did post Matt Thomas Amon on his thread, thanks.

Assuming the KIM tattoo is of her daughter, i wonder if she had a habit of running away or substance abuse? Maybe thats why the family/daughter never bothered to report her missing.Hard to believe TWO victims and neither one can be ID.

Does anyone think this was the work of a serial killer? Seems like he had done this before and picked up these hitchhikers with that in mind. Obviously had a gun with him and knew to dump the bodies in seperate states to stall law enforcement. Wonder if any serial killings going on around the time of their murder?

The Sumter County Jane/John Does were shot

Interesting connection with the SC couple..gunshot..poss hitchhiking..trucking area. Maybe a serial killer interstate trucker...
Hard to believe two couples unidentified since the 70's

Yes there was the I 40 serial killer , my cousin Fred New Jr was shot and killed in west Memphis AR in 1974 and this was all I heard around the dinner table , my cousins murder was never solved and I have searched and searched and cant find anything on the suspected SK but I remember very clearly, there were several murders between LA and MO in the same year

Im sorry to hear about your cousin!
Hopefully, we will be able to give our victim (kim) and her companion a name one day!

Maybe she cant be easily ID..not to sound too graphic...because of the distortion to her face, nose, and teeth from the gunshot wound. Just a thought since i have seen two reconstructions of her and both look different..as well as her male companion.

She has post mortem photos available; there is some distortion but you can see her. I'd recognize her if I knew her

The witness at the diner stated that she was carrying bedding but not the male, is that correct?

Take a look at sarah rachel tokier. It was guessed that she went missing bet 1976/1977 at the age of 15 or 16. No one is sure of exact dates since her family was deceased. Height, weight, hair and eyes are generally correct. Maybe this is our victim and why no one has identified her.
