Did anyone notice that Cassie became friends on FB with someone last-named "Rhodes" on Oct 4? 3 weeks after she was last seen?

Such a sad case. I hope she's found, but it doesn't seem likely.

through experience on WS... I have discovered that sometimes friend requests made before a person goes missing are confirmed by the other end after a person goes missing... Making it appear the missing person is still communicating on his/her Facebook...

perhaps this is what happened in the case you mentioned above... :waitasec:

Can't remember if Cassie's other facebook has been posted, but here it is https://www.facebook.com/cassie.compton3?fref=ts

Am I missing something? Was Judy ever friends with Cassie on FB? I am pretty sure I'd found Judy's page from Cassie's before (not the one linked above but her current one) but now they aren't friends. Has it always been that way and my mind is just all wonky?

She had a Trac phone that could text as well as call. Wonder if it had a data plan. Locals, where would you by a Trac phone in Stuttgart?
I have a Trac phone and I can go online with it without a data plan and it's not an android. It just uses up your minutes really fast if you do this. Also to use a Trac phone you must have "service days" and minutes. Minutes alone will not be enough to make a call. If you let your "service days" lapse you may not get to keep your number and they may assign you a new one when you reinstate or reactivate the phone. Usually minutes are sold with service days, but you can not make a call without both. You can buy a phone and minutes ect online or at Walmart.

Another article stated this, so who knows:
And that was the last time she saw or spoke to her. The next morning when she found that she wasn’t in her bedroom she started texting Cassie. After no quick response, she sent anothe text. Then she started calling. Her mother said Cassie always answered her phone — text or call. Even if she was hanging with friends, like some teenagers do and ignore that phone call from mom, she never did.

“I called and it rang each time, then I called and it went straight to her voicemail, which is not set up,” she said.

OK, mom, which is it. These conflicting details are frustrating, arent they fellow sleuthers?

(sorry, I quoted the wrong post) I think this is worth passing along to the tip line. :)

My thought was that when she first tried to get ahold of Cassie the next morning it went up VM. But now after continually calling it they notice it's disconnected. Maybe that's what made her add minutes? Not that I believe much of what she says right now. Here's a few thoughts I had around that-
1-when LE checked moms original phone what time did she call Cassie? With her varying stories & the bfs, my bet is her call records would clear up at least a little of what is going on.
2- if it went to vm before & isn't now, what happened to those minutes? I don't believe it would say disconnected if it just was turned off or wasn't charged. On a side note-I recently worked with a family where a gentlemen went missing, he had a straight talk phone. He would turn it on & off to not be traced. We could tell when it was on because it would ring, otherwise it went straight to VM-which wasn't set up because it uses minutes.
3- LE had to have a last ping if it was going straight to VM.

I hope that they've also gained access to her FB, at least for messaging purposes. I'm curious if she used the same pc as mom or a different one. The messages she has may be helpful especially with DB who hasn't posted since Cassie disappeared & had a status about leaving town. Even though she states she wasn't involved with him, a previous status of his looks like he wanted to be.

I really wish an update of some sort would be released. Even an updated flier would be good. The FB page that seems to be fundraising did say that Klaas's Kids are involved but I don't see anything on any Klaas pages nor mention of it in the media.

I just went to the "Find Cassie Compton" page & the comment about Klaas's Kids was removed? What is going on?

Are you still able to access the FB page? I keep getting "Profile Unavailable". . .

I can't believe this case isn't getting more attention. :(

It's this one-https://www.facebook.com/pages/Find-Cassie-Compton/1531296123751004

Unfortunately it looks like the one that was created originally was closed. There was some sort of drama unrelated to Cassie if I'm reading correctly. It seems like there are a lot of "hands in the pot" here with multiple pages & not knowing what each other is doing. I wish they'd all work together & capitalize their efforts, a few small things could be done to make a big difference. :(

I could be wrong but I took that to mean that Cassie's Mom was in another room and "heard" Cassie come in but just heard a door shut when she left. I have been pondering, if Judy did not see Cassie leave- where did the clothing description come from?

I'm guessing from the friend's mother who had dropped her off earlier in the evening.

Then there could be a possibliity she changed clothes. So the description could be incorrect.

Great question-I saw one of the fliers say she changed her clothes before leaving. How would they know that of someone didn't see her or see what she had on left behind?

Story Change? I can understand if she found what Cassie had worn in Cassie's room later, but wonder how she knew what Cassie changed into?

"Judy said last Sunday night, Cassie came home from the derby in Dewitt with her friend Hunter around 6:00 p.m. She was home for a short amount of time before she walked out the door while Judy and her fiancé Brandon Rhodes weren't in the room."
