FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) -- A Fayetteville man is accused of killing an infant and hiding the child's body in a closet for roughly two weeks, according to police.

Tyler Hobbs, 21, was arrested in connection with first-degree murder and abuse of a corpse. Maria Giron-Molina, 21, is the boy's mother, and she too faces an abuse of a corpse charge.

When the child hit and scratched him, Hobbs shook the baby back and forth, according to authorities.

Hobbs reportedly blacked out and later “came to," finding that the child was not breathing, the statement reads. He admitted to being under the influence of marijuana at the time.

So Hobbs' story seems to be the child cried and knocked things off a table, so Hobbs put his hands over the child's mouth to "muffle" the crying. The ungrateful baby then had the nerve to hit and scratch at him so he had no recourse but to shake the child. Then the bad ole demon weed, marijuana, made him pass out and when he came to the poor lil fella was dead.

These stories fill me with rage, the amount of peole who "black out" and then "come to" and yet another child is dead at the end of it. That demon weed should have made him pass out permanently and done the world a favour.

Well...he did have a headache at the time and the baby wouldn't be quiet, poor thing; the baby should have known he had a headache. Being sarcastic, I really want shake him so his brain bounces around his skull..see what kind of a headache he'd have then. moo

Tyler Ray Hobbs, 23, was sentenced to 40 years in prison, with 15 years suspended, for the October 2017 death of an 18-month-old child after pleading guilty to first-degree murder and abuse of a corpse in the circuit court of Washington County.
