K-9 Kina was found just before 8 a.m. in a fenced in yard about two miles from the scene of the shooting, according to Greenwood police. She was immediately taken to a local veterinarian to be treated for two bullet wounds, police said.

The reporter said she has 2 entrance and exit wounds... I was so afraid they would find her dead because of the heat if nothing else. She must of had access to water..? And she ran to her handler as soon as she saw him :heartbeat:

FORT SMITH, Ark. (KTHV) - Funeral arrangements have been set for Sebastian County Sheriff's Office Corporal Bill Cooper who was killed in the line of duty.
His funeral will take place Tuesday, August 16 at 10 a.m. at the Community Bible Church in Fort Smith.

Charges have been filed against the man accused of opening fire on Arkansas police officers, killing a Sebastian County sheriff's deputy and injuring the Hackett police chief.

Billy Monroe Jones faces charges of capital murder, 10 counts of attempted capital murder, possession of a firearm by a certain person, killing or injuring an animal used by law enforcement and being a habitual offender.

It definitely has the potential to be one. There are so many factors that are considered when making the decision re: filing an intent to seek capital punishment, but it wouldn't surprise me if they do.

Billy Monroe Jones was arraigned Wednesday morning in last week's shooting death of Sebastian County Deputy Bill Cooper. Jones is also charged with 10 counts of attempted capital murder for shots fired at law enforcement officers. He's accused of shooting a police dog and has been charged with one felony count of killing or injuring an animal used by law enforcement.

A judge granted a defense mention for a gag order in the case of the man charged with murdering Cpl. Bill Cooper.

The order prohibits the "Prosecuting Attorney's Office, Public Defender Office attorneys and staff, investigators, law enforcement agencies, the State Medical Examiner and State Crime Lab personnel" from "commenting upon the subject matter of this case to the public and media outlets including electronic internet sources."

A prosecutor says he'll look at an autopsy report due this week as he explores whether to seek the execution of a man accused of killing a western Arkansas deputy.

The Arkansas State Crime Lab says the medical examiner has completed its autopsy on Sebastian County Cpl. Bill Cooper and that investigators and prosecutors should have access soon.
