I remember when I first read about this case when he first went missing.....I always presumed he'd be found quite quickly.

But no.

That makes me sad.

And now it's already been 2 years.
I presumed the same. They've done so many searches of the area around the car and some surrounding areas. If it'd been a medical issue, overdose, or even drowning, it seems that he would have been located during the searches.
I will never believe he just walked off. He wasn't that kind of "independent" person. He relied a lot on his siblings and stayed in contact with us no matter what was going on in his life. 2 years is way too long to not know and wonder.

I prayer for answers…closure. I can’t imagine not knowing where a missing loved one was.
Thank you! It’s one of the hardest things our family has ever been through. It’s hard.

Summary:
James Lubin Valdez left home on June 10, 2021 after getting in an argument with his newly married wife when she picked up an extra shift at work. He left in the families 2010 blue Chevrolet Equinox, was seen eating dinner with friends on June 12, 2021 and he has never been seen since. His vehicle was recovered on June 19, 2021 abandoned.

Additional Details:
John Farley told neighbors that he saw Jamie walking with Tom Reed carrying a armful of clothing. Tom Reed denied knowing Jamie. John Farley later said it wasn't Jamie he saw with Tom after all when he was shown a photo by the chief of police. A person who had been in jail told the chief that another person in jail had said he'd taken Jamie out in the woods left him there. The same person told people in the community that the one he said left him there also said he tied him up in a tree.

Out of curiosity, is it better for family members to not be involved on forums like these so that people feel more free to talk and discuss? I just want to hear frank discussion on what people think. I run a FB group for my missing brother and of course at first it was very active and now is only active if I post something people find entertaining... like the fact that my brother's wife's brother went to prison for something other than anything to do with my missing brother. Trying to keep people engaged on my brother's case is a tough thing when there are so few answers. If I could only share what all I know without jeopardizing his case...

IMO it’s helpful to have family members involved. I do believe some people may hold back questions, theories, suggestions, etc in fear of possibly offending or upsetting the family members.

I think in Jamie’s case, the discussion has slowed because there’s no new information shared recently. That doesn’t make it any less important. I pray his case is solved!

Again, JMO.

@Sclaiborne100 , do you or other family members have a “theory” to what happened to Jamie?
You don’t have to go into detail. I’m just curious if the family has theories of their own?

I get tips from time to time, but they’re all different and I don’t want to throw names out for fear of slander or in case we finally get THE tip. One interesting thing that’s come up lately is that Jamie’s wife’s first boyfriend 3 weeks after Jamie went missing was killed in a hit and run accident while he was walking last December. He always eluded to knowing what happened, but said he wasn’t saying anything because he didn’t want the same thing happening to him. A month later his first girlfriend after he and Jamie’s wife split up who also said she knew what happened to Jamie was also involved in an accident where she was drug and then they backed over her head. She lived, but has brain damage.

It is definitely better for families to be involved at Websleuths. Your posts led me to go back and read this entire thread from the beginning. For what it's worth, I think you are doing everything possible to keep your brother's case moving forward. He would be very proud of you for not giving up!

We definitely have suspicions and a couple of theories. There’s 4-5 people that I have my eye on and it’s mostly because of their behavior doesn’t line up with innocence.

thanks so much! I sincerely appreciate it!! It’s so hard to know what in the world to do! I get frustrated because it seems like any movement on his case is sooo slow. I try to do what I can by posting about him on the different social media sites and doing occasional podcasts etc, but it never seems like enough! Then when I’m told by law enforcement that they haven’t been able to follow up on tips I’ve given 6 months ago, i go into shock!!

I am truly sorry that you have to deal with all of this on top of your brother going missing. It must eat you alive every day that LE isn't doing their part. My heart breaks for you!

Family still searching for missing Logan County man. | 5newsonline.com

James Valdez, 47, was last seen on June 10 driving off after having an argument with family at a home in Booneville.

After 10 days, his vehicle was found in Sugar Grove with the words "help me, he is near" written on the back window.
>Keys were missing
>Driver’s seat was adjusted/pulled up
>Part of engine was damaged

His sister compared the handwriting on the back of the window to his writing on a letter; she believes the handwriting doesn’t match.

Booneville officers and cadaver dogs have searched the area where they found Valdez's vehicle. LE are still actively looking.

I don't think one can compare handwriting on the back of a vehicle with handwriting on a letter. Usually people use a single finger to write in the dust. It's quite a different motion than one uses when holding a pen.

They found out later some young men going swimming nearby did it and it seems to be completely unrelated to the case.

It's surprising how much something like this can consume you to the point you feel obsessed with looking for answers! It's not their brother and I know they're busy, but I want MY brother found and his case SOLVED! I want those who did it to pay for what they did. I don't want to have to be obsessed and talk to people I don't know and try to figure out who is lying and who isn't. I do what I do all for Jamie. It is not in my personality to be in the public eye, but I HAVE to do it for Jamie. I don't have a choice. I know most people would do the same for their own sibling! I'm definitely out of my comfort zone!

I can't believe that it's been over 4 years now that Jamie has been missing. We do have a new investigator with the BPD who is working hard on his case so I am hopeful that we'll have some answers soon. That may just be my very hopeful thinking, but a sister can hope!!
