GUILTY AR - Jersey Bridgeman, 6, raped & murdered, Bentonville, 20 Nov 2012 #1

My interpretation was that it was from her dad's house. I never did infer that it was her mother's, so WTH??? (big help this response was, huh??)

One more unknown detail to add to our ever-growing pile of 'em...

The video came from ABC 4029TV.com. A local news station in Arkansas.

Why are you so sure of the mother not being involved in any way? She may be innocent of any wrong-doing. But IMO, the abuse done to Jersey went on long enough for a Judge to hand pretty stiff sentences to Dad and Step-Mom.
So I want to know how Bio-Mom knew nothing of what was happening to Jersey. How could her child of 5 be in Dad's care and she know nothing of that abuse?
I don't know....right now, IMO nobody gets a pass.

Just wanted to stop lurking and say thanks for all you guys do. I'm semi-local. An hour away. Go up to NW Arkansas all the time. Our local news seems to be doing a pretty good job with what they have and trying to keep us informed. I am curious if the father had custody of Jersey whenever they were arrested. I know Arkansas doesn't have online court records but would be interested to see all the court documents related to the previous case. Could give us some insight into who had custody before and why? I do not think this was a stranger at all or a sex offender in the neighborhood. Jmo.

Glad you stopped just lurking, t-p-c, and

I am thinking it was public record along with court documents.(The tape). I think it is the dads house due to the fact they said in the police reports the bottom drawer was off and in this video it shows it was off. I also agree that it was in one ear, out the other news report because of who they interviewed. Again the dads house. I know Jersey's mom wasn't there and these 2 are separate things. I just feel like I need to know this stuff even though it's upsetting.

I watch DHS tapes a lot for my line of work, and it's almost always consumer quality video footage so it just struck me as kind of odd. It's absolutely possible that its legit footage, though. I only watched it once, so I shouldn't analyze it without having actually analyzed it ;)

The dad's address was given in the court documents, and that is the house shown in the news video. http://goo.gl/maps/bVZHK

Not that you can believe them, but the dad and stepmom said they chained Jersey up for three nights, starting just before Thanksgiving. So it's very possible that Jersey was there visiting for Thanksgiving.

THANKS! I've been reading all along, but once I got logged out I couldn't remember how to get logged back in to comment. I was getting twitchy. I wrote this login info down in 10 places :) Sometimes I think the "keep me logged in" option is really bad for forgetful folks like me.

Well, I've got the "Remember Me" box checked, too, Abby.... hmmmm

What I used to do is write important info in my little brown address book -- obviously phone nos., addresses, birthdays, special info disguised as a phone no. or an address, and then I went & lost my brown book. Dayam.

Now how's that??!!

sure is close. One thing I noticed on BT's FB page is how he accounts for his work hours on the 18th and 19th. Maybe that's normal for him,...who knows. From his and DesaRae's FB, this relationship is very new. Very new.
The 19th is the last time I see a post from BT.
Isnt' the 19th the last night Jersey was seen? I beleive so.

The relationship between BT and DesaRae is older than BT's membership in Facebook. The relationship began September 25. He joined Facebook on November 6. What took him so long? :waitasec: (Just an observation, not hinting at anything.)

DesaRae is fortunate in having a large and apparenlty loving family. Jersey was also, what a shame she is gone. How does one carry on after this kind of loss? Jersey was a beautiful little girl. And what a gorgeous smile she had.

GO, LE!!!

that is horrible. and who would think less than a year she would be dead. poor child. jmo

Unfortunately there are a lot of cases where a child with a history of being abused eventually ends up dead.

He also says he was cited once before because JB was found wandering in the street. That was at another address. I really would like to know if JB had a history of this when she was with her mother. Maybe she was trying to get away from her dad. jmo

I thought about that, too! Maybe she was trying to get home. She was the only child there who wasn't a child of the stepmother. That can get a child abused sometimes.

Also, with the wandering -- when my brother was little, he used to wander early in the morning. One day a neighbor made himself some eggs, turned to pour himself some coffee, and when he turned around, my brother was eating his eggs. A pedo could have driven by and seen her outside and just taken the opportunity.

As for the sneaking of food by Jersey reportedly by her dad and step mom to clear themselves of being known as the monsters they are, IMO, I sincerely think they lied to save their own butts. Anythings possible I know but I just don't believe this.

If someone assaulted little Jersey before going to work then proceeded to stock or face, (align to front), products on the shelves there could be evidence of the assault left on something they touched. The killer could have had her blood or other evidence fro her body or the vacant house on his or her hands.

MOO
My thoughts, also.

I have to think that if this child was unclean and covered in rashes, scabies, etc. the school would have done something about it. If only talk to the parents and if it did not clear up they would call DHS. jmo

SBM
I do believe they would have. I have as much confidence in our schools as I have in our PD.
Schools can call the report of suspected abuse or neglect in but it's up to DFS to act on them in the correct manner. Many times I think DFS fails children and sometimes entire families.

The mere thought of this breaks my heart. I know you're correct about how/why the abuse happens sometimes. I've seen it. :notgood:

Prayers for your justice sweet Jersey. Safe now in the arms of Jesus.

Totally Off Topic -

Firefox has an add on - and you can export your login passwords.
I try to do it about every six months - with hard drive failures, and other issues, it's been a life saver more than once.

Trimmed for simplicity :)

I will say that our DHS system is completely overwhelmed because of meth. It is a huge problem in our county and surrounding counties, even if it is not generally a huge problem within city limits. Our shelters are full, our homes are full, and it's a real problem.

I guess without more information it's hard to tell if there is merit to the idea that she was at risk with her mom or not. I honestly do not know. I just mean to say that I believe the school would report if it became evident that they should. Based on the reactions of people who knew her personally, I'm going to say there wasn't any universally strong perception of that. Most people I've talked to are shocked and describe her as being clean, tidy, assertive and bubbly.

I use safari, I'll try downloading firefox and checking if Safari has something like that. Thanks!

When my DD was about 5 or 6 she used to get up in the middle of the night and eat snacks too. After awhile, I just started giving her a bowl of cereal and a banana before she went to sleep, and she started sleeping through the night.

Was my first instinct to ' chain her to the bed?' NO. My first instinct was to feed her more. And if she was getting into medicines, I would have locked them up or put them away out of reach, but not chained up the child. FGS.

They found a couple bongs at her home, one of which appeared to have meth residue. IMO she was probably fending for herself. I personally suspect she was something of a wanderer and was chained up so they could get high without worrying if she'd leave the house and get them into trouble again. I don't buy the protecting her angle. MOO.

I'm the child of a druggie, though, so I'm naturally cynical on this subject. I do not believe it's possible to be addicted and dedicated to your kids. The child only enjoys fleeting moments of prioritization.

I want to know what the reasons could be that LE is not disclosing who called 911 and who was in the house that night?
