GUILTY AR - Jersey Bridgeman, 6, raped & murdered, Bentonville, 20 Nov 2012 #1

  • #361
The Examiner.com:
"Arkansas girl was in the sole custodial care of her mother DesaRae Bridgeman at the time she went missing on Tuesday, sometime between midnight and 6:45 a.m. Yet it was a "relative" who was caring for her at the time of her disappearance on Tuesday, ABC4029 also reported that the relative resides at 608 SE A Street in Bentonville."
"Research conducted by the National Criminal Profiles Examiner, based upon the ABC4029 report, reveals that police searched a home that was listed on the Bentonville County Sex Offender Registry while looking for the missing girl.
In fact, the sex offender registry for the Bentonville County Sheriff's Office shows that as many as 23 sex offenders live in the Bridgeman neighborhood area, with three address on the registry listed as her direct neighbors: 702, 704 and 706 SE A Street."

So....five days in, no arrests or named suspects. Are they having problems?

702 is the trailer next to Jersey's mother's home.

704 is the vacant house where Jersey was found.

706 is immediately next to the vacant house to the south.

This article isn't correct on many facts, especially the number and location of registered sex offenders. You can check here: http://acic.org/offender-search/index.php The Benton County Sheriff's site's sex offender map doesn't work, as far as I can tell, so I don't know how this "reporter" is supposed to have got that information at their site. There are only about 30 houses in Jersey's neighborhood and there aren't 23 sex offenders in the entire city of Bentonville.

Also, keep in mind that when it's reported that Jersey lived with "a relative," her mother is "a relative." Jersey's mother is the person signed up with utilities at that address.

ETA I should have written there there aren't 23 registered sex offenders in Bentonville; there are probably a lot more than 23 who aren't registered. Also forgot to point out that if 704 is abandoned, how would there be a s.o. registered there?

Been out of touch yesterday. Was hoping to read of an arrest. I take it there are no developments :(

Disappointing.

Trimmed for simplicity :)

I will say that our DHS system is completely overwhelmed because of meth. It is a huge problem in our county and surrounding counties, even if it is not generally a huge problem within city limits. Our shelters are full, our homes are full, and it's a real problem.

I guess without more information it's hard to tell if there is merit to the idea that she was at risk with her mom or not. I honestly do not know. I just mean to say that I believe the school would report if it became evident that they should. Based on the reactions of people who knew her personally, I'm going to say there wasn't any universally strong perception of that. Most people I've talked to are shocked and describe her as being clean, tidy, assertive and bubbly.
I have close family living in that area and surrounding so I am familiar with the meth situation and like everywhere, it's rampant and overwhelms our LE. I actually love the Fayetteville, Rogers, Bentonville, Bella Vista, and little Little Rock areas and wouldn't mind living there again. Beautiful country and always feels so clean to me.
Having worked in the capacity I did at one time I think DFS often fails, not because they don't care, but because of guidelines that are set out for them by others, and also many times because of the burn out and also all the people that are needing their services.
I do think Jersey in the pictures we've been shown looks to be a very clean, sweet and absolutely beautiful girl. I do wish that parents, moms and dads would be much more careful of who they bring into a kids life than many of them are.
Not saying "he" is guilty but just saying that's where I'm leaning and pray to God I'm wrong.
MOO

I keep coming here first thing in the morning and checking throughout the day to see an arrest. I don't want them to rush so fast that something becomes inadmissible but I want/need more information, I want/need answers, I want justice for beautiful little Jersey!

I tell ya, i'm getting afraid to even share info I find in News articles that "SHOULD" know what they're doing. I have seen some really poor reporting lately. It's scary! Who can we rely on for facts? The more reputable news media, I suppose. But even they bend here and there. I think it's appaulling really. Shoddy reporting....ugh.

Like everyone, i'd like to see some progress made that will take us closer to Justice for little Jersey!

Apparently the obvious to me is not the obvious to LE. So, I am going to direct my thinking in a totally different direction. I am beginning to think this case is much more convulted than appears on the surface. Even in the gruesome murder of JR we had some details.

Case of JR: Family was cleared very early on, details of condition of body, pictures of the location, evidence found etc. We were even provided with a profile of sorts.

I guess all LE's work differently, but by them saying there was no danger to anyone it suggests certain things, not being spoken of. I wish I was a fly on the proverbial wall in the offices of the detectives. Hoping for an arrest soon. :banghead: jmo

I've followed a few murder cases in Benton County, and have found that LE there are very stingy with info. You think they have nothing, and then all of a sudden there's an arrest. I'm really afraid, though, of the possibility that this will turn into one of those cases where everybody agrees on who probably did it, but there's never enough evidence to arrest. That would be horrible!

Another view of Jersey's house and proximity.

Everything here is in such close proximity. Have you ever seen a case where everything is so close to home like this? You can hop, skip and jump from these houses to that E-Z Mart place in no time.

I don't remember a case where everything that we can see, is so close to home.

The school Jersey attended is preparing for the return of the children, and how they are going to tell them. It sounds like they're going to be quite honest, which, I guess, is good, if not traumatizing. (at such young ages)

How do we know how long DB has been dating BT?

Looks like BT just joined Facebook. Maybe that's why the new relationship status is posted.

Not that it changes anything in regards to this case. Just wondering how long they've actually been together.

I wish we knew who the relative was that was babysitting that night. I guess it was likely the grandmother of the poor child. But I would like to know for sure.

Have we ever been told for certain if there is video surveillance at the EZMart?

I have had to step away from here after the JR case because it was so disturbing. I do find comfort, albeit for sad reasons, in seeing some familiar names here.

This case is so disturbing because of what happened to that beautiful baby in the past. What a sad life, so sad.

I find it really odd - and I'll leave it at that - that the BF got so attached so early. If they have been together two or three months, the mom and BF, that is just about the time when the novelty of this new family wears off, especially for someone without children. Things become settled in, true behaviors become obvious and if this person in any way is not equipt to deal with it, it can leave the mother choosing between the children and the 'great boyfriend' who might even be now helping with the finances. Not everyone makes the right choice. I was in that position and luckily my daughter had no idea that I made a wise choice for her and I.

Read into it what you want, but the dynamics going on at that time in a relationship are milestones - for good or bad.

I agree. I've been there and done that too. Good point, but we don't really know much about the dynamics in this family. Only what it appears to be, but let's face it. It doesn't appear nice at this point! It just doesn't. Can't wait for some cold hard facts.

IMO, the "relative" was Jersey's mother, and Jersey was not being babysat. That information was given out at a time when LE wasn't naming who lived in the house. Also, LE said that Jersey died sometime after midnight when her mother says she put her to bed.

I would also like to know how long each of them have worked for EZ Mart. I don't think it has been reported and I don't know how to find out. Anyone seen this info? tia
