No point. There was speculation who wrote the letter. I was just giving the info contained on the report.

xxxxxx was the person that xxxxxx was suppose to have xxxxxxxx with until the allegations started

I think that has to do with Josh's betrothal with Holt's daughter.

First question, YES. If these girls pray enough with an open enough heart and turn away from sin enough and have enough faith, they will be 100% healed and anyone who tries to tell them differently is trying to give them doubts about God's healing. Second question, church leaders only. My only experience is my own and it's similar ( AOG) and that would be mental illness is the devil making your brain think bad thoughts or in some extreme cases, possibly even a demonic possession. No one outside the church can help you because they're sinners from a secular world and may try to give you non biblically approved manners of therapy. Anyone taking medication for a mental illness is essentially a ' drug user' and a sinner. One would only want to take ' drugs' to get high and feel differently and not because a doctor prescribed it for duress.
Do the Duggars go to doctors when they're ill for antibiotics? Did any of the children require medication? I guess upstream I see one of her latter births was very premature so she must have needed extreme medical intervention........ so they 're not opposed to doctors and medication.... just opposed to it to help the victims of Josh Duggar the Pedophile .

This was exactly my personal experiences as well. Ugh, so glad to be free.

I did think this part was interesting though speaking about the letter writer....

Thanks, that's what I thought but I'm tired today and thought I'd missed something. I too wondered about that line!

Yeah I'm not sure but one of the victims said that the xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx was called off due to the allegations. So maybe you are right.

A few years ago ... the men of the church were meeting after church to discuss my friends teenage daughters apparel. They felt like their blouses were to tight and they should bind their chest up more, go figure. At the same time the son of one of these political men was touching one of my friends teenage daughters in a sexual way as she slept. This was found out and apologies were made although the boy was tempted by the girls tight blouses(lol). The boy was sent to one of the training centers to be punished??? My friends did not return to the home church for quite sometime after this. At this same time, the boy mentioned earlier was betrothed to a girl in the the group, both were 14 at the time. The betrothal was broken by the boys actions. ... Just this last year the family of the young man mentioned before was highlighted on the Discovery Channel, at the time they had 14 children and were about to have another and the mom was receiving a mother of the year award from our governor. Since that time the same boy was betrothed again to the same girl. He was working very hard on a campaingn for U.S. Senate for the girls father. The father lost the campaign. He immediately began looking for “sin in the camp”, as that could be the only explanation for the loss. He found that the young man betrothed to his daughter, had committed sexual sins(?) while on the campaign trail. The young man, now 16, was made to stand in fornt of the church and confess his sin. He was then told that the campaign was lost due to his sin. The weight of the world on this poor boys shoulders. I do not know what punishment the church gave but I do know that it was harsh enough for his mother to seek advise outside of the “group”, but she did eventually give in to her husband and the group. The young man and young girls betrothal is now broken.

There are loads of " Ex ( fillintheblankwithyourreligionofchoice) " forums where you can share and heal with others who know what you went throught. FYI :) Hugs

I think 14 year olds being "betrothed" is all kinds of messed up as well.

Thanks, Schmae. I used to be a member of one and it was a huge help along with learning what the Bible really says. I've moved on, but do tend to get a little ranty with this type of thing because I have no doubt our church would have "handled" this situation in exactly the same way.

Report states and I will add xxxx for redacted sections this is Inv Taylors relaying info....

She said she talked to xxxx and found that xxxxx was the person who wrote the letter. xxxxxx was the person that xxxxxx was suppose to have xxxxxxxx with until the allegations started.

Inv. Taylor stated that after the letter was written is was placed inside of a book. The book was later loaned to xxxxxx from either Elm Springs or Cave Springs. The person that disclosed this information did not know the xxxxxx first names. They allegedly have the letter.

is anyone able to make any sense of that? within TOS of course.....

To me it sounds like the letter writer was a friend of the family somehow. They wrote this letter about the abuse and put it in a book, some time had passed maybe even years and they loaned out the book. The person/family that borrowed the book have the letter and went to the police or to Oprah then Oprah reported to police.

I had to look up the word to make sure I knew the meaning because it didn't make sense to me with a young teenager. But, I was right and did know what the word meant, and now don't know what to say except what you said, "all kinds of messed up."

When you grow up with this type of belief system, it all seems normal and the rest of the world is wrong or immoral or disobedient.

Fox Released a teaser video from the interview. I won't watch it but heads up for those who want to

And while I'm at it, H*LL would have to freeze over before anyone betrothed me to anyone at age 14, or any age. Do any of these young people ever speak out and speak for themselves instead of doing exactly as told? Obviously, they must keep quiet, but I wonder what would happen if someone spoke up? I was raised rather sheltered and religious, and had a terrible fear of ending up in Purgatory, but then at age 13 I found my voice, and then I didn't stop voicing my opinion. But to this day, the guilt and fear have never totally gone away. And I'm going to guess the guilt that is instilled is 100% times worse, then mine.

Depending on the religion - fear of God, fear of displeasing God, fear of disobeying parents, fear of shunning, fear of loss of eternal life, fear of hell and most's personal favorite is guilt.

This is easily instilled when the kids are only allowed to associate with those of the same belief system. TV and internet is often monitored very closely usually homeschooling is practiced to keep the children pure. They usually don't have much outside knowledge to question whats being taught and they trust their parents.
