Why isn't Josh here answering questions for himself? It would be a wonderful chance to testify about the incredible modsnip that he's been and what an amazing grace it is that God loves him despite all the preying on children.

In a way I think these interviews probably perfectly sum up the Duggar household dynamics. Mom and Dad and the sisters will always cover up and make excuses for dear Joshie.

I do not believe for a moment that Josh came to Jim Bob upset and crying because he was suddenly struck by a spontaneous sense of guilt for what he was doing. Someone caught him and told him to tell daddy or else, and he was upset for getting caught.

Had he been truly sorry he wouldn't have continued and escalated his behavior.

I'm a simple person, I think in simple terms. If someone molests children he or she is a child molester. I define a child molester as someone who molests children.

Let's suppose someone worldly and heathenish molested multiple children on multiple occasions, just like Josh. Would he be a child molester?

Not that preying for children is any cause for alarm, since he was only 15, not yet 16. Just a reminder that a child molester is a person who is five years older than the victim. 14 - 5 = 9 year old victim. 15 - 5 = 10 year old victim. So a 14 year old who molests a 5 year old is a child molester.

What's the age difference between a molester and a child? It is five years, so a 14-year-old "older child" sexually touching a nine-year-old is an example. This is the accepted medical definition.

Sometimes, a professional will consider that a molestation act has occurred when the older child is only three years older - a sixth-grader with a third-grader, for instance. The crucial element here is the lack of equality between the two children; the sixth grader is clearly bigger, more powerful, and more "adult-like" than the third-grader.

We avoid definitions that are ambiguous by sticking to the medical definition. We define "child molester" as an adult or child, who is at least five years older than the child he or she has molested.

Yeah and let's suppose that one of the Duggar children had been molested by a stranger in a public restroom. Would the child ask to see a birth certificate and then decide to be traumatized, or not, depending on whether the molester was born 16 years ago, or only 15 and a half.

That's slightly misleading or downright dishonest here IMO, as they were on reality TV long before it became a regular series. The first four specials aired in 2005 and 2006 before it was even brought to the state attention so they certainly didn't have "a clean bill of health" from the state at that point in their lives. And it's a matter of considerable debate if the actions they took in 2002 and 2003 can be described as "all of this had been taken care of".

I really don't know the particulars with the whole show cancellation thingy, but I kind of have to give Oprah a big fat WTH? For cutting the show over the molestation but not reporting it, or even pulling the already reported molestation out from the cover of lies.

Oprah was a victim of incestual rape as a girl. Why wouldn't she use her fame to show this pig man for what he really is? His poor daughters. I hope a doctor (not a fundie doctor) has examined them for signs of rape.

One thing I learned here is that pedophiles never rehab. They just don't.

Just to extend the legal analogy, in fact, the reality stars were poor witnesses on their own behalf, alternating between painting themselves as victims, employing a legalistic rationale for their behavior and returning to their belief in Christian forgiveness and redemption. In the process, Jim Bob seemingly sought to diminish what transpired (“touching somebody over their clothes&#8221 and rather vaguely referenced how many other families had experienced similar issues.

The police department and children's services betrayed the trust of the kids because the kids poured their hearts out to them telling them everything .
But just a bit ago, she said the kids didn't even know what happened. So what did the kids tell the children's service? How could there be anything in the
reports if the only people who knew what happened were JB , M and JDtheP?

exactly. Read the reports. Their interview was ridiculous. I hope they sue although they dont have a prayer-saying it was a juvenile record doesnt make it a juvenile record. You can say it over and over...it still doesnt make it a juvenile record. The names of the victims were properly redacted and the Duggars have chosen to out two particular ones in a bid for sympathy. They cant have it both ways-they cant demand for privacy and forgiveness but then cherry pick the facts they want to spin.

Go ahead and sue. That entails depositions and discovery. Talk about keeping this story alive-you go M and JB. Sue the city and the sheriff's office. Cant wait to read what actually went on in your home vs what was hinted at.

Josh, you are a coward. You are letting your parents and sisters run cover for you again-how is this honorable?

Victim status is cover for saying something that seems to be incredibly untrue? Josh is a self confessed child molester. My heart goes out to her, but that doesnt negate her brother's own words and confession of his actions.

My parents followed Gothard and his crazy teachings. We weren't homeschooled, but had much of the Gothard nonsense drilled into our heads. My Dad used to beat the crap out of us, then proudly serve as church elder on Sunday. We were brainwashed at a young age to never ever tell anyone about being beaten. My oldest brother was once given two black eyes by our Dad. He was 8. Brother was made to tell people that he had been hit by a puck at a hockey game. Once I was beaten so badly on the butt with a piece of 2x4 that I couldn't sit for two days. I had to miss school and lay on my bed on my stomach. We were trained that it was our fault for misbehaving and that Dad was just being a good, loving Christian father by not sparing the rod. I was the rebel out of us four kids and did tell other people about the beatings. When my parents found out that I had been telling people about getting hit I was forced to write an open letter about how I was a liar and had made everything up and then post the letter on the bulletin board at school.

The thing is - I often felt that it really was my own fault for getting beaten. Many times I really did feel like I had been an awful person for telling on my Dad. And I was the rebellious child! I can just imagine how much worse my compliant little brother felt. My heart really goes out to the Duggar girls. I think it's quite likely that they are forced to lie and say that the molestation was no big deal and that they forgive. On the other hand, I think it's quite possible that they have been brainwashed into truly thinking that it wasn't a big deal. I'm so sad to see what happened to them being minimized. But, in Gothardland, outward appearance is EVERYTHING. No matter how rotten to the core the household is.

Once it got out of the house, it had to be dealt with.

Two things I'm curious about. During the robo call and transgendered questions segment of the show. JB said this ( almost ) verbatim "" What Josh did IS inexcusable but it is NOT unforgivable"". Is JB implying that transgendered people are unforgivable?
How is it no one can make themselves eyecatching but Michelle can wear a ton and mean a s*** ton of make up and not be Jezebeling herself?
