WCSO Report dropped by In Touch yesterday states that the 5 year old ran to her father after Josh touched her while reading her a book. In March 2003. Another incident was the laundry incident with another child when Josh slipped his hand under her dress.

These were not "asleep" incidents that the victims were unaware of until told.

I support your view on this. It's not the same as my view but I can totally see both sides. I agree that until we are in this exact situation, there is no way to know how we might respond. I do feel the odds of Josh being a danger as an adult are high, however. I respect your very compassionate side, Scarlett . :)

It's a crime, you wouldn't report a crime???

I didn't realize how naive I was until I started reading about how many people were abused, sexually, physically, mentally while growing up. I didn't know anything until now about blanket training, Gothard, any of the things that has been discussed on here. One thing that stuck out to me was when MD mentioned that the boys and girls don't play together alone. Say, a brother and sister can't play hide and seek together. I have no siblings, and just thought all brothers and sisters play together and why would you fear such a thing happening? And safeguards at night to prevent Josh from molesting. What safeguards, lights and alarms going off when he touches one of the girl's beds? And somebody brought up the makeup on MD, my husband asked me a couple of times why her face was so red, at least that lightened up the moment for awhile. And that awful clip at the golf course, OMG. If my dad and mom carried on like that in front of me like that whether I was alone or with a boyfriend, I would have died right there. And this is what I don't get, the word sex was never mentioned in our house, I don't think that word even existed. But the Duggars who are so uptight about sex and the purity of their kids, why do they carry on like two wild and crazy teen lovers and in public like that. I have never seen anything like that before with parents in front of their kids.

** Speculation ahead** Now you make me wonder if they did that all the time in front of the kids even when the kids were very young and say things like ' when you're older , you get to xyz ' which would have the kids' attention piqued far earlier than in other type of households. Like I say , totally speculative but that could have made someone like Josh more curious to keep flaunting it in his face what we can do vs. what you can do . moooooooooooooo

I did not say or imply that at all. I said until we are in that situation, we're all monday morning quarterbacking.

The obsession with sex in that family is bizarre. Everything focuses around sex. Why?

Exactly. There was a clip from an episode where Jim Bob and Michelle were "double dating" with Ben and Jessa, who were newly courting. They were all playing minature golf and Jim Bob started dry humping Michelle and said, "look at us kids, you can't do this yet!"

It's one of those WTF moments that today, seems bizarre!!!

It's been suggested, since the home where the abuse occurred was a very small house, that it was probably impossible for Josh NOT to hear his parents going at it every night in order to make baby 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20.

I actually dont see how these events could not be considered a pattern of criminal molestation. It is sexual molestation. It is molestation of children. It is lewd behavior.

It just is.

The fact that victims were family members makes it more typical, and more dangerous. It also makes the crimes more heinous, not less. Because of the shame that festers.

The letter of the law is clear-Josh molesting a sibling closer to his own age doesnt make the crime more palatable in my mind. It surprises me that it makes it more palatable in Michelle's mind I guess. Josh molesting a child who was 5 years old is what makes me suspicious that he may be attracted to children.

The Duggars did themselves no favors. The only one who should comment on this is Josh. Give an interview Josh. Cut the apron strings and finish what you started.

It seems like there is a high likelihood that there is now an open investigation regarding Josh and his biological children. The man made a public statement acknowledging him crimes....oh yeah "mistakes."

And how many of us had our parents do this in front of us? It was so creepy, and I'm just guessing that Michelle has to go along with it even if she doesn't want to.

From leah's post. I have always believed it is JB's way of peeing higher on the fire hydrant than the other dog. It shows his ownership of Michelle and his status as the puppeteer. But, I wonder if he ever realized that much of the general public would be epically creeped out about the way it sexualizes their relationship in front of their children. jmvho

eta: This may explain, possibly, Josh believing that he could approach his sisters in a sexual way. Being male, he had that power. They were just supposed to take it.

According to JB the incidents when the girls were asleep and had no idea were the early ones that Josh confessed to. It was the next year or many months later, all the other incidents .

Not just Josh. Despite the seeming sexually repressed environment, all of the Duggar children had to know that their parents spent a lot of time in the bedroom. What did they think was going on? :waitasec: It doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure out that whatever went on in the parents' bedroom resulted in all those babies. Did they ever come up for air?

And JB saying that the LEO who did not report it way back then ' broke the law' makes it very clear the Duggars knew it was criminal behavior. But it seems in their family that area is gray.

Yup, I get that part. It seemed to me that the Duggars focused on the girls not knowing, IE couldnt possibly be traumatized. Umm, at least two were fully aware of their brother's abusive behavior.

And let's face it-no one gropes you in the night when you are a child and you dont notice it. Unless you are drugged. Seriously-all of these children sleep that heavily? I really dont believe that at all. They had years to spin this.

Riiiighhhtttt ... and he also said that Josh only touched them for SECONDS.

In his eyes, the 5 second rule applies here. JimBob is an A-hole.

My parents followed Gothard and his crazy teachings. We weren't homeschooled, but had much of the Gothard nonsense drilled into our heads. My Dad used to beat the crap out of us, then proudly serve as church elder on Sunday. We were brainwashed at a young age to never ever tell anyone about being beaten. My oldest brother was once given two black eyes by our Dad. He was 8. Brother was made to tell people that he had been hit by a puck at a hockey game. Once I was beaten so badly on the butt with a piece of 2x4 that I couldn't sit for two days. I had to miss school and lay on my bed on my stomach. We were trained that it was our fault for misbehaving and that Dad was just being a good, loving Christian father by not sparing the rod. I was the rebel out of us four kids and did tell other people about the beatings. When my parents found out that I had been telling people about getting hit I was forced to write an open letter about how I was a liar and had made everything up and then post the letter on the bulletin board at school.

The thing is - I often felt that it really was my own fault for getting beaten. Many times I really did feel like I had been an awful person for telling on my Dad. And I was the rebellious child! I can just imagine how much worse my compliant little brother felt. My heart really goes out to the Duggar girls. I think it's quite likely that they are forced to lie and say that the molestation was no big deal and that they forgive. On the other hand, I think it's quite possible that they have been brainwashed into truly thinking that it wasn't a big deal. I'm so sad to see what happened to them being minimized. But, in Gothardland, outward appearance is EVERYTHING. No matter how rotten to the core the household is.

I shared the same type of situation growing up. When my dad busted my nose backhanding me one evening, I went to school the next day and bought a joint. I was 12 years old. I started self medicating. This was on the heals of telling my mom that Grandpa was molesting me.
My family was just AWESOME at sweeping crap under the carpet, while sitting in the front pew of the church EVERY FRICKIN' SUNDAY, hey, man, it's all about appearances, doncha know?
The LDS Ward we attended put our dysfunctional family on a pedestal. But ya just don't know what goes on behind closed doors............

I saw that. I am.a grandmother. In all of my years , in all of my travels, with all of my friends and in all of the situations where I have been, I have necer once seen parents act like that. Ever. If I did, I would remove them from my circle of friends or acquaintences.

Who acts like that in front of their children??

Maybe some 🤬🤬🤬🤬 stars or someone hopped up on drugs.

Two things I'm curious about. During the robo call and transgendered questions segment of the show. JB said this ( almost ) verbatim "" What Josh did IS inexcusable but it is NOT unforgivable"". Is JB implying that transgendered people are unforgivable?
How is it no one can make themselves eyecatching but Michelle can wear a ton and mean a s*** ton of make up and not be Jezebeling herself?

BBM Too bad comments under articles and videos of these neanderthals don't say "What a MILF!", or "Boy, that Michelle is one hot gal!"

Oh, ankles cause lust but lips don't? If they were REALLY serious about preventing their young women from tempting their men folk, they'd be wearing burkas.

I wonder what their view is on vanity, because nothing says vanity more than doing a reality show on yourself or your family.

How about the time Josh and Anna wanted to go see a movie that you could not go to if you were under 18 (I was surprised they were allowed to see it at all). Their designated chaperone was too young, so they took along a brother and sister who were over 18. Josh referred to it as a "double date" and chuckled when he said "We ARE from Arkansas, y'know?" (or possibly "We ARE from Arkansas, no?") CREEEEPY!

When I saw the scene with Jim Bob humping in front of the daughter, I thought it came from a parody show. I am still speechless
