I so disgusted and angry at this whole ugly situation. These parents are stark-raving lunatics.

I don't believe the "over the clothes, only a few seconds, none of the girls knew" BS for one second. I think some very unholy things have gone on in that house. And worse yet, there are still many little kids trapped there and Josh Duggar has his own kids under his supervision. I seriously hope that someone, somewhere is investigating and initiating some help for all those children and taking steps to make sure they are safe, at the very least. Especially since their parents obviously aren't interested.

I am so infuriated at the TLC network that today I called my cable company to see about getting the whole network pulled from the cable package and replaced with a network with higher-quality programming. I don't for one minute believe that TLC knew nothing about this and has harbored these abusers for years, and their complete inaction since this news hit is disgraceful.

I am usually very quiet and mild-mannered, but this mess has brought me out of semi-lurkdom.

I have a long way to go in order to get caught up here. I was just able to read the transcript of the show and watch some clips. The denial, defense, protection, etc of JD is appealing to me. The fact that his parents and his VICTIMS are going on TV and defending him in insanely backwards ways and he is silent, just goes to show to lengths they will go for the pervert. My big take away is this:

-He molested children (but he's not a molester)
-They were underage and he was a post pubescent young man (but he's not a pedophile)
-He did this without consent...not that consent is possible or would matter...and on his own volition and power multiple times even after being caught or confessing and continued to amass victims and escalate in behavior (but he's not a rapist, it was "inappropriate touch")

So basically, everyone else who does this is an incestuous rapist, but not their Josh. He was just a teenager curious about girls. Their last name is appropriate, since they just keep digging.

I thought about not watching after hearing opinions those that think the family can do no wrong thought they nailed the interview and it was so heartwarming while those that have been disappointed with the family after this came out or whether we have been disliking this family seems like this interview just added fuel to the fire. So I decided I should watch and hear with my own ears so I can be grr for the right reasons b/c I informed myself.

So my questions now would be Do I need an adult drink beforehand? Do I need a comfort food? Do I need a pillow to scream in and/or punch?

Definitely a pillow. Probably an adult beverage.

Engage in any kind of sexual activity before marriage and you're as desirable as a banged-up bike or a cup of spit: That's what the Duggar parents taught girls who had been sexually assaulted by their older brother.

They dont need to defend themselves against the nonsense the Duggars were spewing last night. I would welcome a lawsuit. I want to help with the depositions, even if I just sharpen pencils and carry coffee. Bring it on...the lid will absolutely come off when they have to make sworn statements. I read in the newspaper published in whatever major city is closest to That Family that a reporter simply stumbled on the file mistakenly set out mixed in with public records at the court records office. Mistakes happen.

Think of this: Suppose some other 15 y old boy, say, a male babysitter at the Duggar home had sexually molested and raped (by legal definition, rape includes penetration) 5 Duggar children. Using the Rocket Scientist reasoning of ole' JimBob, well, if it happened one time, then no biggy-pass go and collect $200, if it happened two times- no biggy just tell the babysitter just to pray a tinch xtra---after all the babysitter is just a child, if it happens three times-no biggy but I'm thinking I am getting a 'C-' in parenting + LOL God is testing me' LOL, if it happens four times and the molestation/rape is the 15 year old on a 5 year old little girl - LOL I will have that babysitter go do construction work for 3 month & we will shed tears as we drive off LOL and oh BTW, the 15 y old cannot possibly be a pedophile because you can only be a pedophile if you were 16 or over and did that................ Euww !!!!!!!!!

IMO, the parents ought to go do 3 years in prison and then get locked up indefinitely in a max' security psych unit for the crimi_lly in@ane. IMO

I'm so relieved you said this. I'm apprehensive about the upcoming interview with Jessa and Jill but didn't know how to put my concern in words that don't sound like I'm trying to re-victimize the victims. I agree that they are being used as advocates for their parents and Josh in order to salvage whatever is left of the Duggar brand - for reasons only the Duggars know.

What they have to say will have an impact on the public, including other victims of sexual abuse so I hope that as adults they have chosen their words carefully. My fear is that their woeful lack of education and the infantalizing of them thanks to their parents will lead them to double down, Gothard style and simply regurgitate the misogynistic views of a hate-mongering philosophy.

This family - all of them - needs to stop worrying about the almighty TLC paycheck and the media and instead remove themselves from the public's eye and take time for some serious self-reflection. IMO.

Well, I watched that mini-golf video and wish now that I could bleach out my brain. That is one of the most disgusting, abhorrent things I have ever seen. I don't recall ever seeing anything so icky in public in my life and I've lived in New York City!

I've seen Josh being denigrated on this thread for being a coward but IMO he's the only one doing the sensible thing here, which is to GO AWAY. A question: I read this on another forum and I am too busy right now to read the reports again to figure it out for myself, but is it true that the Duggars went to non-church authorities about Josh only after he assaulted the non-family member?
