Wow. Call me cynical, but this guy committed more than misdemeanor trespassing, when you consider all of the personal info he collected about other people via their evaluations; not to mention personal facts about crimes, things not available to the public, methods, etc of criminals and
just a plethora of things he shouldn't know about the inner workings of the police department. Such as names, addresses and phone numbers of people who put hundreds of criminals behind bars!Very sought after by the criminal element who sometimes have to suffice with just a police scanner! Also, he downloaded just one other person's complete files, but the chief's files will have everyone's passwords stored somewhere. This guy completely compromised the department. I'm just guessing that the other person hacked was the police attorney.
It's almost like the Chief is being not-so-subtly blackmailed by someone.
speculation: city IT guy gets bribed to download all of police chief's files,
and all of another co-worker's files, just so he could resign but not before making it clear that info on chief's computer could get her in big trouble. He gets a slap on the hand--not even a slap on the hand, weird.
Then, in case the Chief doesn't get the message, her subordinate makes sure the daily rag reports they were looking into it in case the Duggars were in those files. Is that not blackmail or am I just looking for it too hard?
To me, it seems as if these people won't rest until they dig a greater, bigger hole to collapse into and weave a more tanglier, more deceptive web. Jimmie Bob must be pulling out every stop to get his super-slimy self back on TV.
Edited to say, remember someone posted upthread the Duggar's attorney threatening the police department with a very expensive lawsuit.
Yes, IMO the Duggar machine is threatening the police chief.
I just think it's weird that Lt. Lewis repeated in the media what the hacker told another worker about the police Chief being "in hot water." That is far, far from SOP. Very clever, quoting what the hacker told another person; get the threat to the Chief by quoting a 3rd person, but if I caught it, I'm sure someone will
catch it too--like the FBI.
