Did Kathi slip through the cracks all of these years?
Things I wonder -
if they are now in the process of obtaining family DNA.
Any indication she successfully started fresh somewhere, or did circumstances at the time appear she was unfortunately probably a victim?
Why was she added to NamUs? Is she on their radar for a particular case?

Kathy was my husband’s aunt. Her body was identified by DNA obtained from her sister. Apparently the body was found soon after she disappeared but remained a Jane doe for all of these years. The family has looked for her for her for all of this time but without luck. The body was exhumed to obtain this DNA for testing. We currently know almost no information but we hope to find out more in the coming weeks.

I know this is a long shot, but what about:

The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs)

When they say "head not recovered" and "torso not recovered", does that mean they found only limbs?? Circumstances says "found floating", so I'm assuming the remains were not just bones?

Kathy was my husband’s aunt. The body was identified through DNA testing and the family was informed yesterday (October 20, 2021). We know basically no details yet.

I believe she was identified as this Jane Doe. Glad her loved ones finally know what happened to her.
