GUILTY AR - Louise, 81, & Christina Bishop, 40, Bentonville, 18 June 2009

Christina's son has just been arrested in connection with the disappearance. I'll try to find a link.

Did we even know Christina had a son? I wonder if the family's upping the reward was to convince someone to give more information on the son's whereabouts during the crime.

Thanks for posting this, I saw this case on CNN and have been following it a little. I know some people thought the nephew had something to do with it, but a son was never mentioned in any articles I read! Hopefully these ladies can be found.

The existance of the son and the fact that he is suspected of something pertaining to this case makes me wonder whether the nephew moved in specifically to keep the son from moving in.

Son of Missing Bentonville Woman Released from Jail

The only man arrested in connection with two missing persons cases in Northwest Arkansas has been let go.

18-year-old Nicholas Johansen of Garfield was released from the Benton County Jail Wednesday on a citation in connection with the investigation into the disappearance of Louise and Christina Bishop. Johansen is Christina's biological son. Police arrested him Tuesday, on charges of Hindering Apprehension or Prosecution. Authorities claim Johansen gave inconsistent statements during interviews with police.

Formal charges haven't been filed against Johansen. His arraignment is scheduled for Jan. 4.

Christina's son, Nicolas Johansen, has been arrested in connection with the disappearance! Just heard it on the news. Will go find a link.

Opps, just read this

Nicholas Johansen has pleaded not guilty.
Nicholas Johansen, 17, is charged with hindering apprehension or prosecution, a class B felony. He pleaded not guilty during an arraignment before Circuit Judge Robin Green.
The criminal information filed against Johansen accuses him of providing false information and lying to police in a murder investigation.

Sure wish we knew more about this. I wonder what he lied about and what LE knows that convinces them he's lying. I think they must know much, much more than has been released. Notice that the article calls it at "murder investigation" and not a "missing persons investigation."

Heard on 40/29 News this morning (at the end of a report about Cheryl Kanning) that LE is planning to search Louise Bishop's property, and that they are waiting on the weather to clear up. I'll try to find a link for that. Right now the clip about Cheryl Kanning has the last part left off.

BIG NEWS!!!!! Thanks for posting TexasMist. I just saw the breaking news on tv.
According to the news, this property is on Sugar Creek Road in Avoca. That's the same town where they found the truck.

According to records for John J, the property where they found the bodies is
15226 Sugar Creek Rd

Garfield, AR 72732-8865

That is just south of Avoca near the intersection of Hwy 62 and County Rd 44 (Also known as Sugar Creek R.) It's also the address given by the newspaper for Nicolas J, who was arrested last fall in connection with this case.

Bentonville Police Chief James Allen says human bones have been found near the Garfield home of the ex-husband and son of a missing Bentonville woman.

Christina Bishop and her mother Louise went missing last June. Tuesday morning authorities executed a search warrant at the house of John Johansen, Christina's ex-husband. Police searched the home on Sugar Creek Rd. and a six mile area surrounding the house. Police confirm the bones are human, however they are not saying whether or not they are Christina or Louise. But personal effects from the women were also found near a creek on the property.

Johansen lives in the home with their son, Nicholas who was arrested in connection with the crime and released in November.

This is great news!
I am glad they (I hope it is they) have been found.

If they are no longer with us, it is gratifying
to be able to lay them to rest.

Justice for the Bishop women.

What is really hinky as all get out to me is that the owner of the strip club up in Missouri supposedly where the truck was left, just happened to call a tow company from this same obscure little out-of-the-way town in Arkansas where the bodies were found. Tell me that's not too coincidental to be believed!
"As he often does with vehicles regularly left for extended periods of time in the parking lot, the owner of the strip club finally had the truck towed -- by an Arkansas company not registered with the state, so the plate number didn't throw up any red flags.

But Skupien did when the company contacted him two weeks after the tow.

“He knew enough to say, ‘don't touch that truck, stay away from it; I'm calling the Bentonville Police Department immediately,’” says Chief James Allen."

By the way, it looks to me like Skupien, the Chicago detective/nephew, whom I had my suspicions about, has turned out to have been sniffing out the perps from the beginning. I mean, he must have had his suspicions when the truck turned up in Avoca where Christine's ex and son lived.

But the strip-club owner? I hope they make him explain himself satisfactorily.

Two bodies have been found in shallow graves on the Bentonville property of Christina Bishop's ex-husband.

Christina Bishop and her mother Louise went missing last June after they were last seen at Sam's Club. A towing company from Avoca, AR crossed state lines and towed the women's truck that was found in the parking lot of a Jane, Missouri strip club last July. The truck had the message "free car just tow away" scrawled across the windshield.
