[tv11.com - 11-24-14]

Malik walked away from home about 5:45 p.m.....

[Presser -11-24-14]

PD got call approx. 6:30 p.m.....

JMO

Even at 5:45 it would be dark though, or at least dusk. That just furthers my thinking that a 2 year old couldn't have gone that far in the dark. Something doesn't feel right. :( Malik, where are you??

I'm sure it's nothing but it's really bugging me...

The size of that shoe in the picture of the search dog Georgia. It just does *not* look like a 2 yr old's shoe. More like a 5 yr old. I even asked my hubby to look at the pic (didn't tell him any details of the case) and asked him how old he thinks the owner of that shoe is. He guessed WAY older than 2, and when I told him the age of who is supposed to own it, he was shocked.

I noticed that too, but thought it was just me. Glad I wasn't the only one who caught that.

I have two year old B/B twins, now they are a couple months younger than Malik, but still multiple things about this story are giving me a bad feeling in my gut. I know all kids are different and Malik is autistic, but even taking that into consideration, too many things just seem off. Opening the door, going out into darkness, wandering so far off (all of my children even my one on the spectrum had an invisible string at that age where they would never go beyond a certain distance from a parent), no fresh scent, no sign in days, etc.
Also I noticed the shoes as well. One of my twins has gigantic feet, bigger than his 3.5 year old cousin and they still weren't that big. They looked to be the same size as my 8 year old DD'S feet.

Maybe those are an older siblings shoes that he'd been walking around in earlier? They couldn't exactly use his own sneakers since they are on his feet and we don't know where his feet are. Or maybe what we're seeing is not the handler trying to get the dog to get a scent off those shoes, but maybe that's the handler saying "go look for shoes????"

I don't think too much should be made of this pic of the sneaker.

Wow, interesting catch!

I think there is something in the water in Arkansas. Some of our kids have giant feet. Maybe it's the Tyson hormone injected chicken.
I hope LE checks this out and the suggestion to scent the car seat is a way better idea than shoes. Can someone call the tip line and suggest that? I have no phone reception to talk on the phone at my house and I don't have my car again today.

This case is REALLY bothering me, especially after seeing the mom's interview and her FB. So, some thoughts...

"Malik's father says he has no reason to believe he was abducted. He said that Malik's mother was in the bathtub, but got out to check on dinner that was cooking. He said when she got out, however, she did not see the toddler. That's when she reportedly asked his twin sister where he was, and she pointed at a screen door. He added that Malik has never had the tendency to just open the door and walk out."

Two, two year old toddlers in the house and you start dinner then go take a bath? Who does that?

Earlier in the thread ( http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sh...arcy-23-November-2014&p=11234761#post11234761 )it was said on twitter by @alysoncourtney that dad was asleep while step-mom was in the tub... at 5:45 in the evening?

I looked to see if there was any follow-up on that but it appears that tweet has been deleted.

So step-mom is in the tub and dad's asleep. At dinner time? WHO was watching those kids? And... where was the bio mom when all this happened?

Way too much hink here. And from all I've read, there were no other siblings in the house, but bio mom does say on her FB she has three kids. Yet, there are no pictures of any kids except the twins.

I'm confused by this too

UPDATE (11/24 1:00 p.m.):

Police say Malik was last seen by his stepmother. They received the call about the missing child at 6:30 p.m

UPDATE (11/24 8:30 a.m.):

Police say Malik disappeared from his father's home while his stepmother was bathing and his father was asleep. There was another young child in the home at that time.

Bio Mom says here she got a phone call from the Dad to inform her of the situation, and she was driving to get there http://www.arkansasmatters.com/home?tout_uid=jfok4l&widget_uid=456c20&security[signature]=38b3ef461c75d888b182dcbf7829eabd&security[tout_uid]=jfok4l&security[widget_uid]=456c20#tout_widget_456c20

I thought I read Bio Mom was at the doctors with the twin sister? Can't find it now! Has anyone seen or heard from Step Mom?

Someone posted in fb comments yesterday morning that Malik was her cousin and that the dad was at work and that Malik was home with the girlfriend and there was more to the story. Who knows if what she said was true or if her facts were straight but it was still there in comments last night. I'll go look again and post.

Since having my own kids I can't even remember bathing on my own without a little one passing me soap!!! Seems very odd to start cooking then go have a bath and leave kids unattended!!!

MOO!!

So true. My best friend sent me a hilarious picture the other night with the caption... This is why I usually wait to bathe until everyone is asleep. Her husband was sitting (lid down.. Just using it for a seat) on the toilet laughing with one of her kids in his lap climbing and another kid beside him playing the harmonica. Lol
Edited to add.. Of course she was in the tub just trying to take a bath.

I am with my 4 1/2 and 2 1/2 niece and nephew all the time.of course, I let the roam in the house a bit. But, if any door opens in the house, I will hear, "door open" the only door the older one could maybe open would be the front door and he can't even go in his bedroom alone, so I know that won't ever happened. I watch these children like Hawks. When she sleeps, I have the baby monitor next to me. Overprotective, maybe. But, bad things happen to good people. Children should never be left to watch each other, hang out for long periods of time, while you do your thing, and be in charge. There are reasons why their are laws in place that kids can't be left alone until a certain age. Did anyone follow the story on here about the 3 year girl who wondered off and was found in a pond 25 feet from her house. Her parents were home, but we're stoned and not watching her. They didn't know she had left and a fisherman found her earlier that day and brought her back. The dog in the home was also badly neglected. I just found it recently because they received their sentences. It is so sad to me how parents have children, which is a choice and then choose to put themselves first. Their are millions of people who can't have children and would love your children if you can't watch them, take care of them, or notice them when they are gone. Things like this break my heart.

I already said it, but will keep saying it. Reminds me exactly of Myra Lewis. Conflicting and confusing stories and timelines, small child wonders away while dad is home with other child and sleeping, takes awhile to notice the child is gone, dogs used but no trace.... With Myra MANY months later she is still missing. Please let this baby come home soon and safe.

I thought the same thing.
