I was already wondering if it was accurate, then reading on mom's FB page, a friend (who states they have been friends since 2010) asks when they found out Malik was autistic. Another oddity.

That is interesting, though I can see some types of parents choosing to keep their child's diagnosis (any medical/mental/cognitive diagnosis, not specifically autism) to themselves unless specific people needed to know.

Sorry if repost, but seems more thorough then the other video

Still searching but change of focus... "As law enforcement, we're taking every avenue... It's an ongoing investigation."

Do we know where it was first stated that Malik was autistic? Just wondering if that is accurate, if it was a mistake or rumor that got legs, or if (as someone stated earlier) it was added by LE or a missing organization.

The police department had to request the Morgan Nick Amber Alert for Malik and the circumstances specifically state:

"Malik Drummond is Autistic, last known to be in his bedroom. Last seen wearing Blue shirt and brown pants with strips."

I agree with caveat and I don't think it's alarming some friends wouldn't know.

True. I actually was already regretting posting that, because it sounds harsher than I intended. If it was the parents or step-mom, I would think it was reliable. Sometimes it seems others might make an offhand comment (like, I always wondered if he might be autistic, or something) and then it gets picked up as fact. I guess my real question is has anyone seen a parent confirming that Malik has autism.

Wasn't sure if a screen cap had been posted of the alert yet.
There were two pictures, but they are the same.

Slightly OT - the picture of him - is it a picture of a picture? (Not important, just wondering)

According to a Facebook post on #FindMalik, collections will be taken to gather money for a reward in the safe return of the little boy.

I think it's important because the last time he was seen was reported to be 5:45. When the stepmom went to the bath. 45 minutes is a long time to be leaving 2 year old twins unsupervised...

Actually, if you go back to the beginning of the thread, 5:45 pm is when the step mom noticed him to be missing. The call was place to LE at 6:30 pm. It seems like ( to me anyway) a long time to be looking without calling LE for a 2 year old.

this makes me sad.............

Some more info about the drain search (oops sorry, Aeronomy, hadn't yet seen your post up thread)

Marine Glisovic reports from this morning and more recent text updates
http://www.katv.com/story/27463658/missing-police-searching-for-searcy-toddler

Searcy police say all the area storm drains have been searched. Acting on a tip about a noise coming from a storm drain off Center Avenue & Olive Street late Wednesday morning, Searcy Water Utilities lowered a camera down the storm drain. As of noon, nothing has been found so far.

Police are using a helicopter to take aerial video and photos to hopefully aid their search. Investigators are not ruling out any possibilities of what could have happened to Malik, including foul play.
