Oh my. The autism has bothered me from the get go. Yes 2 is very young for a diagnosis. So many symptoms of autism at that age are simply symptoms of being 2 ( non verbal, fear of loud noises etc). A confirmed diagnoses at age 2 would probably mean someone presenting as severely autistic and not just on the spectrum. None of the pictures seemed to show this IMO. And from the FB I have seen it doesn't seem that there was much knowledge of any autistic traits or behaviours. I noticed that the police were careful to write in the missing flyer that he was "reported" to be autistic from the beginning and they didn't engage any specialized searchers who are autism specialists to search for him. So they probably had an inkling from the beginning that there was some deception there. Wonder who made that claim? It wouldn't have made the police search any less desperately for a merely missing non-autistic toddler. It was planted there for a reason. To possibly explain away any later discovery? To excuse any behaviour? What else is there deception about? No likey :(.

That's a good point. It is hard to make a diagnosis at age 2 if it is a 'mild' form on the spectrum. There are many 2 yr olds who don't talk much, then suddenly begin speaking in full, long sentences by age 3. Especially with twins, there is often one that is more verbal and the other that sits back and listens.

Forgive me if I missed it, but has it been mentioned that it was odd that dad slept through a door opening while he was asleep in the same room? That is if I understand correctly, that the door Malek allegedly exited was in the same room dad was sleeping in.

I have a hard time believing an exterior door opening wouldn't wake a parent. Especially if that parent was sleeping in the room with the door.

Right now my theory is dad was napping and step mom went to draw a bath for the kids prior to finishing dinner. Perhaps she had enough time to give them a quick bath before dinner was ready. She went to check on dinner thinking dad was awake and during that brief time Malik wandered into the bathtub and an accident occured. Then when step mom went back upstairs she found Malik.

When Malik's twin was asked, where's Malik and she pointed to the door, that doesn't necessarily mean Malik exited the door by himself. Someone could have carried Malik out that door and the twin sister would have still pointed to the door.

Someone carrying him somewhere might also explain why the dogs did not pick up a scent.

If he, God forbid, drowned and was immediately carried out of the house, I don't know that cadaver dogs would pick up a scent. Horrible question to think of, but would the scent go down the drain with the bath water?

At this point, IDK if the above theory is accurate, that both dad and step mom know, or just step mom knows and she is keeping it from dad.

Praying Malik is found safely, soon.

This is totally rumor, but I have read in the comment sections of a few articles that bio mom is autistic (if true my guess would be more like high functioning aspergers), but it might explain why some family thinks he might be. Might also help explain what may or may not be perceived as odd behavior by her. I think if they really suspected she was involved than the other twin would not still be placed with her. At least I hope not.

I also feel something happened within the home. Whether the dad was sleeping or not, I don't know, but I can see it being plausible. . . more so than someone who up and decides to take a bath in the midst of dinner while watching two kids. I am under the impression that dad and stepmom have only been together a matter of months. If something happened to Malik under her watch, I think it's possible she would hide it from the dad. . . especially if she may be the type that cares more about herself and losing her man than the life of a child. (OF COURSE, She may not be like that at all. This is just speculation.)

The more I think about it the less I believe both would know. I can see no reason both would lie about it if some kind of accident happened.

The only way I see dad knowing has more to do with parental abduction and him hiding his son, his boy.

As far as the biomother is concerned. I really dont believe she had involvement. I don't really think she would seperate her twins like that.

If it happened in that home and both of them know, I also wonder if it's because maybe they both were "sleeping"

BBM, if you go by Step Mom's FB, a couple of years.

Wasn't it mentioned before that the search dogs lost his scent near a body of water? Was that water ever searched?? That is quite an ominous sign. But then "autistic" children are drawn to water aren't they? Hmm.

  • #667
I don't think bio mom is involved.

Thanks, I wonder then (based on some paternal relatives comments) if there had been a split and they (dad and stepmom) recently rekindled their relationship.

I've seen a few speculations that step-mom was drawing a bath for the TWINS, but the msm articles say she was the one in the bathtub.

Not to mention, who bathes a 2 yr old *before* dinner, unless they were exceptionally dirty that evening (had been outside in the mud or something)? Two year olds are masters at making a mess at dinner :) on themselves and pretty much everything else. I always bathed my toddlers *after* dinner & before bed time.

Probably sound really daft here but what is MSM?

Was it reported whether or not stepmom got in the bath after the father was asleep or if he was already asleep when she decided to get in the bath?

Did we miss this? or Did I?

SEARCY, AR - We have new details tonight into the investigation of what happened, hearing from the person who last saw Malik.

Josh Berry has the report live from where the search began Sunday night.

Malik's father's girlfriend who considers herself his step mom tells me she has been spending most of the last few days inside the police department answering questions about what happened.

She says she was told she didn't pass questions on the polygraph test

Searcy Police did confirm today that cadaver dogs have been used throughout this investigation.

Malik's father's truck was searched by the dogs just as they continue this investigation in hopes of finding Malik.
