Yeah, I'm closer to the Christina Morris case, but what I will say is that someone posted that a Cadaver dog can track the scent for like 30 years...

http://www.syracuse.com/news/index....ent_accurate_can_smell_remains_15_feet_d.html

"Cadaver - Dogs specifically search for the scent of human remains, detecting the smell of human decomposition gasses in addition to skin rafts. Cadaver dogs can find something as small as a human tooth or a single drop of blood."

Thanks, JMOM! :tyou:

But, if I understand correctly, (which may not be the case) cadaver dogs will indicate any human remains, not just those they are searching for. So does this mean that if anyone in the past 10 years had been disposed of there the dogs would react?

I believe this is correct.

Apparently, the last person to see him alive and healthy was his bio Mom, when she turned him over for his scheduled visitation that weekend. I don't know what day that was, I don't know what time of day that was, and I don't know where that transfer occurred. LE obviously knows the answers to those questions, and probably a whole lot more.

I figured after 10 days, that kind of information would have surfaced by now, whether it be a neighbor that saw him playing outside, or someone else that saw the the family coming and going from the home. So far, nothing has been mentioned

It's a little odd.....but not really when you put it into context. For example, there have been plenty of times when I have come indoors on a Friday afternoon, worked on some plans all weekend, surfed around on Websleuths, and watched a bunch of football games, without ever walking outdoors again until the beginning of the next week. I was never seen by anybody, and my truck never moved, for essentially 3 days. My home is my castle....and my refuge.

One could even argue that since the kids weren't seen by anybody after they were handed over for their visitation, that it shows they were getting a high level of parental supervision, just by the fact that they were indoors and not allowed to go play outside by themselves. After being closed up in the house all weekend, I could see where little Malik might have been getting a little stir crazy and wanted to get outside to check things out. Don't forget, it was wet and rainy that afternoon......there's nothing more fun to play in than a bunch of mud and water puddles !! (that can apply to both children and grown men)

You make some good points. LE no longer believes Malik wandered off but until he's found it's still a possibility, no matter how remote. I'm leaning towards either a stranger abduction or abduction by someone known to Malik but at this point, who knows? There are conflicting reports in msm about what was told to police - some don't make sense and LE hasn't yet publicly clarified the circumstances.

What's worrisome to me is that dad and g/f said he disappeared at 5:45 (they called police at 6:30). Sunset that day was at 4:59 so it would have been dark by then. I can't imagine Malik roaming very far from the house in the dark, especially since relatives said he wasn't in the habit of running off.

Plus, his grandmother said Malik and his twin sister were inseparable. However, she didn't follow him out or make a fuss when Malik left - The g/f said she pointed to the door when asked where he went. Seems odd.

Great points from the pair of you. The 'missing time' and 'reported time' are very peculiar, imo. Especially so if visitation time ended at 6:00pm like most standard custody orders are written. jmo

This case reminds me of Haleigh Cummings from Florida, except her family was willing to give interviews. moo

You got me thinking about this visitation schedule. In found this

Mods, I am not sleuthing the parents. I am trying to figure out the timeline before the call was made. I hope this post is OK. :blushing:

Agreed!

Do you think a 2 year old could have gotten that far, to Gin Creek by himself, then not have been spotted or scent trailed to there for over a week of an intense search? Is it the kind of creek that would have carried away a little one? Seems improbable with all the people who searched, so thoroughly, I would guess.

Has it even been confirmed that girlfriend was bathing twin sister and not in the tub herself, as early msm stated?

If she was bathing twin sister, how did twin sister point to the door when girlfriend got out of the bath and asked where Malik was, according to those same early, msm articles?

Obviously both can't be true, so either the media got it wrong or someone's lying. I guess both are equally possible.

Nope, no confirmation yet.

KARK reporter David Goins continues to state the g/f was bathing the twin - including twice on NG - but the majority of msm is saying the g/f was taking a bath. I don't have a Twitter account nor do I want one, but I'd like to ask him where he's getting his info.

As you point out, it's impossible for the twin to have any knowledge of where Malik went if she was in the tub. The bio mom said she took the little girl somewhere (I'm not sure what kind of agency it is) to be interviewed but she refused to talk. Why would the mom do that if she was told that the twin was in the bath? OTOH, LE hasn't said whether or not they officially interviewed the twin sister.

Knowing where Malik was supposed to be would help us find out where he might've gone. I wonder if we could make up a map of locations, with tags where witnesses said they saw him. There's his birth mom, and then his dad and stepmom; no one else? But then he's two; there's not much reason for him to be out of the house, really, except accompanying his parents.

That the cadaver dogs would detect any dead person, even from ten years ago, doesn't really strike me as a problem. If they did find something that wasn't Malik, then that would possibly mean some other family gets closure.

Could definitely do that but we have zilch to go by, no witnesses and not even a last seen prior to step mom/GF's story!

Good find! This is a general document, correct? Not specific to this case?

I have no knowledge of custody/visitation agreements- in general or in this specific case- but my gut feeling is that there wasn't a visitation or custody agreement in this case. I may be way off base, maybe everyone has to have one, I don't know. That is just my instinct and purely speculation, MOO.

I don't think there is anyway he could have gotten to the address on Oak St without being spotted, because he would have to cross Main St.

The Pecan street address might be slightly more realistic, but no, I don't think he could have made it there on his own either. Beebe Capps is a busy road (or was the last I knew).

Maybe someone who does have a Twitter account could straight up ask David Goins (the reporter) to find out who was the last to see Malik before he vanished. I find it hard to believe this question hasn't been asked or answered already. IMO, this should have been one of the first questions asked even for a rookie reporter.

Between this and the Christina Morris case, I'm tempted to start a twitter account (or dust off my never used one if I can remember the password)
