Hoping one of our SAR experts might chime in today to give us their opinion on the latest happenings. I hardly slept last night. Nightmares about Malik all alone out there in the dark, cold and scared somewhere. :tears;

Mods, could you put out the word? :please:

I asked before, but wasn't answered. If Malik walked in that park, would dogs still find his scent?

Sorry your question wasn't answered...

From cases on WS I believe scents can last pretty long...

but I have no clue how long...

I am not well versed in that department...

I had quoted this earlier and your post brought it back to mind. In the Nancy Grace transcript, this is stated by David Goins, a reporter from KARK 4:

"We are near the home just about 20, 30 feet behind me and we`ve actually talked with Malik`s father this afternoon about the developments related to the fact that the search has stopped. He said this is the first he`s hearing of it. He didn`t have a lot to offer actually saying in previous media interviews he felt like his situation had been misrepresented so he didn`t want to talk to us much beyond that."

Malik's father's response of being misrepresented confused me. It didn't make sense to me. My initial conclusion was that he's obviously hiding something and still I felt and feel slightly torn on what to think and make of it. What is the likelihood that this misrepresentation of him is because someone stated he was there and asleep when possibly he wasn't even there? What is the likelihood LE advised him not to say anything? We don't know if he passed a polygraph or not, but we do know MSM has reported that his girl friend said she failed.

I wonder if the girl friend is still staying there now?

I have seen tweets that accuse dad of some things, but they were all local rumors that can NOT be discussed here. Still, maybe those local rumors are the "misrepresentation" he is referring to?

You guys need to be careful with the FB discussion please. All of the family members are considered victims, so be mindful of that when you post.

Thank you

Sorry Coldpizza. I'll be more careful promise.

Is this in reference to the size 9 shoe? Can you please link it? I also have not seen it confirmed.

The shoe size was mentioned in a FB post (screenshot in above link), so I don't think anyone is allowed to quote it. It was not in a news report. HTH

I'm no expert but if it helps, we are using dogs now at the 3 month mark of Christina's disappearance, so I think you are correct that they last quite a while.

First night he went missing, two neighbors told a reporter their dog had a bit of training, it was late into the night, that their dog had followed the little boys scent to a play park, then nothing else, no other trail. They said it may have been the dog just following the little Malik Drummond's scent where he'd played before. sorry, will keep looking for link.

Earlier this morning I asked our Mods to alert our SAR experts to chime in to Malik's case. I'm hoping this is in process, and your question (along with everyone else's, and their overall opinion on this case) will be posted soon.

This is purely MOO, but I think that would be referring to Spring Park, near the dad/gf home, rather than Riverside Park, which is much further away. I know nothing about dogs and how they track, but if Malik ever went from the house to Riverside Park he would have been driven there. JMO

Thanx. What I actually would have likee to have seen was having the dogs track other peoples scents from the home that day, or at the park.

Authorities say a dive team has concluded its search of the Little Red River in Searcy after finding no clues in the disappearance of missing toddler Malik Drummond.

Divers began searching the waters of the river that runs by the city's northeast side Tuesday after receiving a tip. But Searcy Police Department spokesman Cpl. Steve Hernandez said the water search "did not turn anything up."

I really thought this seemed to be a solid tip and search. Why do inland waters have to be so opaque! They need see-through-muddy-water technology!

A cadaver dog getting a hit seems pretty solid, maybe an SAR expert can help explain, how so or if not. Thank you WSers for all the information you've posted.

Alexis Rogers reported last night about the dogs and evidence, if they had found any

GRACE: Who can place the child alive prior to that night? Prior to that afternoon when he goes missing, who last saw the baby alive other than the

parents?

GOINS: Nobody. The last person who saw Malik Drummond was his father`s girlfriend. That was in the living room of their home on Park Street in

Searcy on the night of November 23rd.

Good that NG asked that question but nobody? Not even a reporter has any idea!! :pullhair:
