Who initially told LE or MSM the dad was asleep? Within 12-18hrs after he was reported missing channel 11 reported the father said "Malik's mother was in the bathtub, but got out to check on dinner that was cooking. He said when she got out, however, she did not see the toddler. That's when she reportedly asked his twin sister where he was, and she pointed at a screen door. He added that Malik has never had the tendency to just open the door and walk out."

I find it interesting there's no mention of him (the father) even being at the residence in this article, much less asleep. The father appears to be reporting what he was told by the gf. So if gf told the dad one thing and then told LE something a bit different, then that may explain the difference in earlier reports... If so, then it seems not so much miscommunication as it seems to be someone who had changed her story. JMO

Thank you for posting the transcript to the video segment. ETA: you can view the video at this link as well, for those who haven't seen it.

Seeing the searchers out on the water really hits home. :( LE is doing all they can. Given the number of cases I've followed here, I know they're working every angle and lead. I just hope everyone in Malik's life has been completely honest about what happened in that house.

Whatever happened that day will come to light. Malik and his twin deserve to grow up - TOGETHER! :please:

They are back out at the river today? I thought they said the search of the river had concluded?

Is that the same river they were searching yesterday?

An Arkansas man has been arrested after his 3-year-old son was found wandering outside wearing only a diaper in freezing weather.

http://www.katv.com/story/27535692/arkansas-man-arrested-after-son-found-by-neighbor

Front door was open and the man had been sleeping. Weird that these things sometimes come in clumps.

Right I definitely think toddlers can wander outdoors - happened to a friend of mine's son at age 2. But I've never heard of a toddler wandering outside and within 45 minutes hidden or traveled so far that teams of LE, volunteers, etc. cannot find any trace of him over a week later. That just doesn't seem plausible to me. Like in the article you linked - most children who wander outside are found shortly thereafter.

No need to apologise FHG! Yes, I would say the video is from yesterday the time on the clip is 7am(ish), so presumably they were showing yesterdays search, it's the bit where they said "dive teams will head back out today to the little red river for a second day of combing through water" which has got me confused.

My Cousin was watching yeasterday when they concluded the search, I told her this morning I think they need to keep searching the river :( I really think it the most likley senario, unless he wandered out of the door into the waiting arms of a kidnapper, Now did we ever find out if dad was napping or working ?

Clark said the weeklong search has included the entire city of Searcy, a city of 23,000. The police chief said the search included homes, apartments, abandoned homes and buildings, trash containers, vehicles, parks, sewers, ponds, creeks and the Little Red River - all with no sign of the boy.

Sounds like water will remain murky, for a now.

Tons of cloud cover and occasional showers will be with us today and tomorrow. Our best chance of showers and thundershowers arrives on Friday.

5 hours ago would be 11:45 am Arkansas time. I haven't seen anything else anywhere though. If they have stopped I'm a little surprised. Haven't heard of any pressers either but maybe there'll be more info on evening news.

So confusing - like the rest of this case. :(

Again though, the article linked in the tweet was last updated yesterday. Confusing indeed :(

Ah, good! That's in 5 minutes. I'm about to go up and shower/bathe/bathe a random little kid/check on dinner ;)* so I'll miss it but hopefully there'll be more news.

*Yep, a little sarcasm there.

Police to Return to Searcy Park in Search of Missing Toddler

Detectives spent the day in the rain, searching along the rocky banks of the Little Red River though there was no water search Wednesday.
Both sides of the river, just a couple miles north of Searcy, are heavily wooded with some steep inclines and bluffs, making searching slow-going, but the police chief said it's an important place to look.
“It’s got to be eliminated," Clark said. "Until he’s found, every place is a possibility. We’re trying to eliminate all likely places and really unlikely places. Until we clear them, we won’t know for sure.”

The only time I bathed mine before dinner was when they had played in mud or something that needed to be cleaned up before eating. I wonder what the kids were up to earlier in the day.
I think I read somewhere that they had been to the river that day, and dad came home, showered and then fell asleep. Did anyone else read this? If not, take it with a grain of salt...I'm sure it was a comment or from a non-MSM site.
