Found Deceased AR - Nicholas Shawn Stewart, 41, Altus, 5 May 2019

Franklin County Sheriff's Deputies are searching for a man they say has been missing for over a month.

Nicholas Shawn Stewart, 41, has been missing from the Altus area since May 5.

Stewart is a white male, has brown hair, brown eyes, is 5 feet 10 inches tall and 123 pounds. He has tattoos on his abdomen, back, left hand, left wrist and neck.

His mother tells 5NEWS that Stewart needs medication for seizures and high blood pressure.

One Family Fears Human Remains Found In Franklin County Could Belong To A Loved One

Franklin County Sheriff Anthony Boen tells True Country News that human remains found in Franklin County a few weeks ago have been identified as missing person Nicholas Stewart. Stewart was last seen on May 5th at the Dollar General in Altus. Franklin County authorities were contacted by a property owner in northern Franklin County after a skull was found in a wooded area on his property. A search was conducted with cadaver dogs the next day and more remains were located. Boen said that the crime lab listed the cause of death as undetermined with no signs of trauma on the remains that were recovered. Boen said that foul play is not suspected to be involved in the death.
