AR - Rep. Harris rehomed his adopted daughter to man who sexually abused her

And of course, the law is not retroactive....(but honestly, what law IS?).

Still, it pisses me off that Justin Harris was pushing this bill through on the heels of his despicable abuse of authority.

He is a person without redemption, IMO.

He certainly is not showing much remorse. I haven't heard much lately about calls for his resignation. Seems to have died down.

I hope that the review of DHS is thorough, but I don't know how much review they are going to get for $25 grand.

Does anyone know who the judge in the adoption case was? I can't seem to find copies of the adoption papers

ETA found it http://www.arktimes.com/arkansas/ca...applied-pressure-to-adopt/Content?oid=3725371

hat summer, the adoption case went before 4th Circuit Juvenile Court Judge Stacy Zimmerman in Washington County. And in court, Cheryl Hart recalled, something strange happened: Everyone on the DHS team that had previously opposed the adoption changed their recommendations.

Months after the rehoming of their adopted daughters was made public, Justin and Marsha Harris have yet to face consequences

On March 24, three weeks after the news first broke that state Rep. Justin Harris (R-West Fork) and his wife, Marsha, gave their two adopted daughters in 2013 to a family where one of them was later sexually assaulted, Rep. Harris returned to Twitter. Normally an active presence on social media, Harris had shuttered his feed the first week of March in response to an onslaught of unwanted attention as the Arkansas Times report revealing the "rehoming" of the girls, ages 3 and 5 at the time, was picked up by national and international media outlets. But by the last week of the month, the media spotlight was already beginning to dim, and Harris resumed tweeting, albeit with his account now visible only to his followers. He broadcast two verses from Psalms (37:12-13) that seemed intended to signal defiance rather than contrition:

The wicked plots against the righteous and gnashes his teeth at him

But the Lord laughs at the wicked, for he sees that his day is coming

Hmmm. Interestingly I think his quoted verse is very appropriate, only not in the way I assume he meant it. :innocent:

Where is the justice for these two little girls? I truly don't know how these people sleep at night. Oh wait a minute. On their 5K mattresses and pillows filled with righteous feathers. IMO

The Family Council Action Committee will today present its first annual "Power of Courage" awards to two Arkansas state legislators, Rep. Charlene Fite (R-Van Buren) and Rep. Justin Harris (R-West Fork).

The group's press release say Fite and Harris "demonstrated courage by standing strong in faith when situations were tough at the State Capitol and they did so with grace. They are consistently models of their Christian values in their homes, their communities, and their churches." It commends the two lawmakers for their work on legislation regarding abortion.

So the Republicans hosting the event asked the group not to hand out the award. Doesn't mean he's not getting the award, but at least someone had the decency (or at least political common sense) not to play host to it.

Jeez, I wish my grandmother was still around to pound on the front door of her neighbors in that pink mansion on Center St.

Between the abhorrent failure of DHS to protect the Torres child in Bella Vista to the ridiculous raid and removal of the Stanley children for months by a Judge who just "forgot" his own baby was baking in a hot car in Hot Springs to the freak show put on by Rep. Harris, something is really rotten in Little Rock.

That Judge has some friends in high places. Which is why he is not sitting in a cell like the JUstin Ross Harris in Georgia. (Psst....Ted Cruz)

Here are some fun factoids I (with the help of Bexlex pointing the way) dug up back in June.

The same judge (Stacey Zimmerman) who fast-tracked Harris's adoption of the girls despite the opposition from experts is the same judge who ordered Josh Duggar's juvenile records expunged when that scandal started to break.

And according to her webpage:

"Appointed by Governor Mike Huckabee and served on the Arkansas Coalition for Juvenile Justice, 1999-2005"

It would be irresponsible not to speculate.
