Richard Phillips, 39, was last seen November 23 in Springdale.

According to Lt. Jeff Taylor with the Springdale Police Department, at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday, officers responded to an apartment on Cooper Drive in reference to a welfare check. A caller told dispatch that they could hear people fighting in a nearby apartment.

Officers spoke with a male inside who said he had been hanging out with Richard Phillips, 39, when a group of men arrived at the apartment.

The man told officers that the group had taken Phillips from the apartment and left the area. The witness stated he did not know the men, but it appeared that Phillips did.

According to Lt. Taylor, investigators now believe Phillips was injured during an altercation with the men and may need medical attention.

Springdale police searching for missing and possibly endangered man


According to Lt. Jeff Taylor, officers were called to 1252 Cooper Drive Tuesday night for a welfare check after reports of a fight.


Police said they found a trail of blood and followed it to an apartment.

A man inside the apartment told police 39-year-old Richard Phillips was taken by a group of men who came to the apartment.

The witness said Phillips and the group of men began to argue and then began to physically fight.

Circumstances of Disappearance
It is reported that Richard Phillips was beaten to a state of unconsciousness, placed in a maroon comforter with gold ring design and drug out of the apartment complex into a white pickup truck. Event was caught on video

His daughter is also missing, she was entered into Namus on the 24th. There is also a video of the apartment and trail of blood on here. Missing and Unidentified

So some guys came into an apartment and beat a man unconscious and wrapped him in a comforter and dragged him out to a vehicle. And there was a witness there in the apartment who was unharmed?

With two suspects in custody, the search continues for 39-year-old Richard Phillips.

Phillips was last seen at the Peaks Apartments on Cooper Drive Tuesday, Nov. 23. An investigation into his disappearance started after a witness told police Phillips was abducted from the apartment by a group of men. Officers spotted a trail of blood in the parking lot.

Lt. Taylor reports that following an extensive investigation, Reginald Baker of Seligman, Missouri, and Daniel Blanks of Fort Smith, Arkansas, were named suspects in the case.

Suspects arrested in missing and endangered person case; Springdale man yet to be found

According to a news release from the Springdale Police Department, police believe Daniel Blanks, 43, of Fort Smith, and Reginald Baker, 40, of Seligman, Mo., are suspects in the disappearance of Richard Phillips.

Baker and Blanks were arrested and are facing charges of kidnapping, residential burglary, and second degree battery.

The release says Phillips is still missing, and police are still looking for him.

LOCATED DECEASED

On Saturday, Nov. 27, just before 12 p.m. a group of hunters discovered a body, later identified as Phillips, just north of Seligman, Missouri. Law enforcement determined that he died in Springdale.

His body is being sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab to determine his cause of death.

Lt. Taylor reports that following an extensive investigation, Reginald Baker of Seligman, Missouri, and Daniel Blanks of Fort Smith, Arkansas, were named suspects in the case.


Body of missing Springdale man identified in Barry County, Mo.

Hunters discovered the body and called the Barry County Sheriff’s Office. BCSO contacted the Springdale Police Department and detectives were able to confirm that it was the body of Phillips.

Police said that evidence at the scene suggested that Phillips died in Springdale, meaning the case will be prosecuted in Washington County.

Lieutenant Jeff Taylor with Springdale PD said that the case is being treated as a homicide and the two suspects that are currently in custody, Reginald Baker and Daniel Blanks, will likely have their charges upgraded in the coming days.

I thought there would be more to this story, though I never in a million years could have imagined this scenario. I feel so sorry for that poor teenage girl, this is just more trauma for her.
