Yellville, AR. – The man from Yellville who was found living with a 14-year-old runaway girl in a cave in 2022 has been officially sentenced.
James Isaac Melder, 42, is looking at 30 years in federal prison, and an additional 20 years of supervised release following the judges sentencing. In addition, Melder is required to register as a sex offender, must participate in a treatment program, and upon supervised release, is not allowed to have contact with the victim or unsupervised contact with any other minor.

Isaac James Melder, age 42, of Yellville was sentenced on February 13, 2024, to 360 months in prison without the possibility of parole after being found guilty of communicating with a minor through the internet to entice the minor to engage in illegal sexual activity. The Honorable Judge Timothy L. Brooks presided over the sentencing hearing in the U.S. District Court in Fayetteville.
