The affadvit states that he wanted to have sex with her but she did not want to and the fight led to him shooting her in the head.

A 59-year-old Crossett man was sentenced Thursday to 70 years in prison for the 2018 murder of Shannon Ridener of Ashley County.

Brian Russell was convicted of first-degree murder, abuse of a corpse, and being a felon in possession of a firearm in the commission of a crime. He received a 40-year sentence for the murder, 20 years for felon in possession of a firearm and 10 years for abuse of a corpse. Circuit Judge Bynum Gibson ordered the sentenced to run consecutive. . . .
