Her family says they became worried when she didn't show up for work.

Ratliff’s mom got a call from her daughter’s boss on Thursday, May 5, that she didn’t show up for work and that’s when she got concerned. Ratliff’s family filed a police report on Friday, May 6, when they still had not heard from her.

Fayetteville Police Sergeant Anthony Murphy says this missing person’s case stood out immediately due to the circumstances. He says their investigators are looking at different scenarios as to what could have happened that morning.

“It was extremely stormy and there was bad weather that night, so that is something our detectives are looking into if the weather could have anything to do with this incident along with other things. Nothing is off the table at this point,” he said.

Shelby’s family told 40/29 News Shelby was on Dickson street Wednesday night. They said Shelby was dropped off by an Uber Thursday morning around 2 a.m. in between two apartment complexes — The Cottages and Spectrum. Her family said she accidentally left her phone in the Uber.

RIP Shelby.

I still can't figure why she got dropped off between the two apartment complexes? She wasn't sure which one she was going to? They are close:

But then she walked to the creek instead? It looks like there is a walking trail that goes all the way around there, could she have been going there and found that the rising creek water was there instead?

That night we had severe weather come through. Like, really bad.
There was pretty extreme flash flooding that happened, people had to be evacuated from homes, cars were covered, etc.. you can google fayetteville flash flood and it should come up from 5/5.
