BENTON COUNTY, Ark. (WKRC) - A couple in Arkansas was arrested for allegedly abusing a teen girl for years.

It's alleged that the couple's abuse included sexually assaulting her, starving her, forcing her to take drugs, and physically harming her.

34-year-old Daniel Caler and 28-year-old Annie Caler were arrested on May 9. The arrest came after the teenage girl reported being abused at home to her school's counselor.

The arrest came after the teenage girl reported being abused at home to her school's counselor. According to KNWA, the girl told police that she had been repeatedly raped by Daniel Caler for years until Annie Caler stopped him.

Despite this, the teen girl claimed that she suffered more abuse from Annie Caler than from Daniel Caler.

The relationship between the couple and the girl is not clear, but in April, the girl told police that she finally felt safe enough to report the abuse. She said she could no longer "live with the guilt of thinking it was her fault."

based on how this couple's appearance has changed in recent years, I'm gonna guess hardcore drug use entered the picture and then all bets were off. Probably horrible people to begin with but yeah, I'm thinking drugs amplified whatever sickness they started out with. There are several younger children featured on their pages but I can see no teen.

Just saw a similar article from "People" magazine. Another heart-rending situation.
It just dammit never stops. At least she is alive and away from that horror. And the "couple" are in custody. Grrrr.
Prayers and good things for this young teen. Hoping she will receive good care and tenderness.

It never seems to cease.
So glad the teen girl was strong enough to speak up about it.
Hoping she will be helped with good folks so that she may one day be able to trust people and be strong and proud of herself.
