I love how the White House told him to shut his trap...not in so many words, but they basically said this. He is going to get us in so much trouble, like his remark about Hugo Chavez needing to be assassinated by our government.
When he opened his mouth, he forgot to engage his brain, or else he is getting senile.

I'm embarrassed that Pat Robertson calls himself a Christian. Or an American!
What a hateful little man! :banghead:  :loser:

I think Sharon has a lot of answering to do to God, but you're right. He needs to keep his mouth shut. He's not in any position to say what others have to answer for or why God does what he does.
Exactly!

Why does he get quoted all the time, anyways? He isn't in the administration or anything, but everything he says gets quoted all over. *shrugs* He has a right to say and believe whatever he wants, although I think he's a false prophet, but he doesn't really deserve to have THIS much weight given to what he says, in my view. *shrugs again*
For the same stupid reason that JJ and AS always show up to give their "words of wisdom! It is funny how all these "ministers" seem to come out of the woodwork when the cameras are rolling and the press is sticking microphones in their face.

I'm getting tired of people who talk before they consider not only what they're saying, but the consequences.

There's too much media, also - "hype". Everybody just stay home and be quiet for a week. Wouldn't that be great? :D
Works for me Martha.

Efforts to stir stricken leader from coma begin

By Laura King, Los Angeles Times | January 10, 2006

JERUSALEM -- Prime Minister Ariel Sharon breathed on his own and moved a hand and a leg as doctors yesterday began the arduous and delicate process of rousing him from the medically induced coma he had been in since suffering a massive stroke last week.

The 77-year-old Israeli leader remained unconscious and in critical condition, with the physicians still unsure what degree of damage has been dealt to his cognitive abilities by the cerebral hemorrhage he suffered Wednesday.

Still, the initial signs were read as hopeful ones, both by the team of Hadassah Medical Center physicians and by Israelis awaiting the tiniest scrap of good news about their stricken prime minister.

As doctors began weaning Sharon off the anesthetics that had kept him deeply sedated since Thursday, he began breathing spontaneously, said Dr. Shlomo Mor-Yosef, the hospital director who serves as a spokesman for the medical team.

''This is the first sign of some sort of activity in his brain," Mor-Yosef told reporters. The prime minister, however, remains connected to the respirator.

Several hours later, Sharon moved his right hand and right leg in response to pain stimuli, doctors said. The stroke affected the right side of his brain, and paralysis is likelier in the left side of his body, which it controls.

Mor-Yosef described the movement of Sharon's right hand and leg in response to pain stimulus as ''slight, but significant."

''In this case, that's a positive reaction," he said. more at link:http://www.boston.com/news/world/mi...0/doctors_see_signs_of_improvement_in_sharon/

Israel Suspends Contact Wtih Pat Robertson

Snips:

JERUSALEM -
Israel has suspended contact with evangelist Pat Robertson for suggesting Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's stroke was divine punishment for withdrawing from the Gaza Strip.

The controversy has cast doubt on plans for a Christian tourism center that would showcase the growing flow of money and influence from U.S. church groups.

The decision, announced Wednesday by Israeli officials, does not affect other Christian groups that also consider it their spiritual duty to support Israel as fulfillment of biblical prophecy.

Tourism Minister Abraham Hirchson said he gave instructions to "stop all contact" with groups associated with Robertson. Last week, Robertson implied Sharon's massive stroke was a blow for "dividing God's land" with the withdrawal from Gaza and four West Bank settlements.

But Hirchson said the order did not apply to "all the evangelical community, God forbid."

"We will not do business with him, only with other evangelicals who don't back these comments," Hartuv said. "We will do business with other evangelical leaders, friends of Israel, but not with him."

A spokeswoman for Robertson's ministry declined to comment on Israel's decision.

Robertson's comments on Sharon drew condemnation from other Christian leaders and President Bush.
