Iranian president says he hopes for Sharon's death

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) - The State Department is condemning remarks
by Iran's president that he hoped for the death of Israeli Prime
Minister Ariel Sharon.
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (mahk-MOOD' ah-meh-dih-nee-ZHAHD')
was quoted by the semiofficial Iranian Students News Agency. Iran's
official media, including state-run radio and television, did not
report Ahmadinejad's remarks about Sharon.
He spoke a day after the 77-year-old Sharon suffered a massive
stroke and underwent surgery.
U-S State Department spokesman Sean McCormack termed the remarks
"hateful and disgusting."
In the last two months, Ahmadinejad has called the Holocaust a
"myth" and called for Israel to be "wiped off the map."

Who the He** does Robertson think he is? He should be reminded "Judge Not Lest Ye Be Judged". Maybe God will get him for his evil attitude!

Why does he get quoted all the time, anyways? He isn't in the administration or anything, but everything he says gets quoted all over. *shrugs* He has a right to say and believe whatever he wants, although I think he's a false prophet, but he doesn't really deserve to have THIS much weight given to what he says, in my view. *shrugs again*

Man, his comments keep getting more outrageous. For being a Christian he sure makes some un-Christian like remarks.

This seems like a nightmare.

Pat Robertson - who's he helping? He's aiding and abetting our enemies. If he were a liberal, ACLU member, people would be all over him - he'd be run out of town.

But since he's a powerful minister, we don't do anything.

He needs to go to Timbuktu and be a Prophet and a Seer. IMO

They were just talking about Pat's remarks on GMA and he said he considers Sharon a friend. Who wants or needs a friend who talks about you like that? Also, I noticed Pat looks kind of haggard in the face. Wonder how his own health is?

I'm getting tired of people who talk before they consider not only what they're saying, but the consequences.

There's too much media, also - "hype". Everybody just stay home and be quiet for a week. Wouldn't that be great? :D

It is being reported on Drudge website that Sharon has died. We shall see. I would think they would break into regular programming if it were the case.

Who cares what we say? (I hope) unless someone's spying on us.

I don't think I'm undermining foreign policy too bad. And if I got out in public and said something really crazy or dumb; I wouldn't make the news - they'd just haul me off to the State Hospital.

Ariel Sharon underwent another round of brain surgery Friday, and doctors say a scan shows improvement after they were able to stop the bleeding and relieve the pressure inside his skull.

Officials said Sharon's condition showed "significant improvement" but outside experts said the prognosis remained dire.

Sharon's chief surgeon told the Associated Press it was too early to assess how much damage the prime minister has suffered after two similar operations in as many days.

An assessment won't be known until Sunday at the earliest, when Sharon is to be weaned off the drugs keeping him in a medically-induced coma.

The former general, 77, was rushed into the operating room this morning for a five-hour surgery, after a brain scan revealed fresh bleeding in the brain, and an increase in cranial pressure.

Dr. Shlomo Mor-Yosef, the director of Hadassah Hospital, where Sharon is being treated, said a CT scan was conducted after surgery.

"In comparison to the previous CT scans that the prime minister has undergone since the prime minister's arrival and to date, there is a significant improvement," Mor-Yosef told a news conference Friday.

"In spite of the improvement, that from our perspective is a significant one in the CT scan, still the condition of the prime minister is serious but stable."

This latest surgery follows a seven-hour procedure on Thursday, after Sharon suffered a massive brain hemorrhage. more at link:http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNe...sharon_update_060106/20060106?hub=CTVNewsAt11

WASHINGTON -- Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's latest brain scan Saturday showed a slightly easing of swelling, but he remained in critical condition with his life in danger, a hospital official said.

In his first briefing on the prime minister's condition in more than 24 hours, Hadassah Hospital director Dr. Shlomo Mor-Yosef said Sharon's vital signs were stable. Doctors will decide Sunday when to lift Sharon's induced coma, meant to give his brain time to heal, to examine the extent of his neurological damage, Mor-Yosef said."First we have to stabilize the situation and fight for the life of the prime minister," Mor-Yosef said. "Then we will be able to evaluate the different neurological findings."

Asked whether Sharon's life could be saved, he replied, "We believe it's possible."

Later, Channel 2 TV quoted one of Sharon's surgeons as saying the prime minister likely will suffer some cognitive impairment. The station quoted Dr. Jose Cohen as saying he was "quite optimistic" about Sharon's chances of survival, but "to say after such a severe trauma as this that there will be no cognitive problems is simply not to recognize reality." more at link:http://www.ktvu.com/news/5906129/detail.html

Excellent news!!! :woohoo:

Amazing!

This is the dumbest thing I have ever heard, considering Everyone's gonna die someday from somthing...considering he hasn't "cashed in his chips" yet one would think he would be careful.

How does that saying go? But for the grace of God go I? Something like that..

I love how the White House told him to shut his trap...not in so many words, but they basically said this. He is going to get us in so much trouble, like his remark about Hugo Chavez needing to be assassinated by our government.

The White House needs to muzzle him and take away his toys.

Israelis think that Sharon's policy towards Palestine will continue to be upheld by his successor. That's not the feel that was given when he first had this massive stroke; then it was said that it was thought that the more militant faction might gain power. It's a very thin ice situation--if Hamas starts anything now, I don't know what would happen--it can go either way.
