Arizona girl, 2, left in car by father on 109-degree day and is found dead #2

Ughhhh this case is so enraging and how he's been treated with super extra duper kid gloves is infuriating! Out on bail, influencing the other two girls, coddled and protected by his enabling wife, and allowed to go to freakin' Hawaii on vacation?!?!

Sometimes it seems there is no justice. But then, I think about the long-awaited re-arrest of Barry Morphew and have to have faith.

But he still should have had only as many days of freedom since he killed his daughter as the number of real tears he cried over her, which if that video above is any indication, is exactly ZERO.

every time I watch this I get heated all over again. His demeanor is just so off from what I might expect.

ETA "so I am being treated like a murderer?" - high pitched whiny voice. "little baby little baby" in his whiny baby voice while trying hard to unsuccessfully squeeze out a tear.

and within seconds "I'm gonna use the shower. Go!" as he tries to get LE to leave the bathroom.

LE "We can't let you do that we have to standby with you."
CS: "you can stay in the room if you want but I'm gonna rinse off real quick" as he attempts to open the shower door. [like what sir??]

Like why is CS so focused on showering right now? He is downright argumentative about it.

The girls are usually real good about reminding me to get her out of the car.

If the girls were home I don't think this would have happened.

This @zzhat grrr
None of it sounds authentic. I know it's a stretch to say how I would react, but I think it would look like me in a puddle on the floor. Most of what he said was like some weird sounding script. Plus he was lying about the time.

He had big fat lies bouncing around in his head affecting his response.

I just don't understand the differences in these cases, they are all over the map, on arrests, charges, bail, no rhyme or reason.

So freaking infuriating! Not only are the other girls not responsible, I’m worried that they’ve heard him say that and may feel that way.

I wish this would go to trial soon. This jerk needs a reality check and jail time.
Oh so true, I’ll bet they’ve heard that from him. Sick

But it wasn't really his fault, doncha know. It was the fault of his other two little daughters, who should have been home to remind him of his responsibilities. Stomach-churning.

ETA apologies - I just saw that this point has been made several times already!
Sadly, it deserves to be repeated many times bc none of us can fathom that (or any of it)

I agree. I believe they are looking at the wife's status as a MD and giving him all the soft glove, as if he's the victim. It would be interesting to see how other incidents in that area may have been handled. MOO
I just can't believe that he would be allowed around potential witnesses- his other children. Did the DA fight this? The girls are going to remember all the fun times they are having with daddy and mommy when its time to go back to court. The full weight of the death of their sibling may not manifest until they are much older and are able to truly realize what they lost. MOO

that bit about how the girls are really good about reminding him not to leave his youngest child in the hot car and how it never would have happened if they'd been at home just really burns my chaps.
As if his young daughters should not only be responsible for protecting themselves from his man child irresponsible idiocy but were also tasked with reminding daddy not to kill their little sister.

just makes my blood boil this man. I will be so very upset if he gets off for this. These poor girls need protecting from their father. I hope it finally does happen because their mother is not at all concerned with that it appears to me. pffft Hawaiian family vacation.
I just came here to post similar. This useless excuse for a ‘father’ is now trying to deflect his uselessness onto his other babies.
I also agree about showering to wash off some kind of residue. Whether it be bodily fluids or narcotics for example. Was he allowed to shower?
Gross inhuman and why his wife enables all this is beyond me.
All IMO of course

I really can't wrap my head around his child dying in a hot car in an Arizona summer, police in the house, and he thinks it is a good time to take a shower?

"Thanks for coming over, if you don't mind I am going to take a shower now.".

So now we know exactly why they're going to Maui.

MOO of course. And I'm not saying she (the mother--I don't expect him to act normally) should never have another moment of joy in her life, but who on earth would want to take a trip to paradise just a year after their baby died? Died at the hands of someone who's also going on the trip. I don't even have kids, but this seems callous to me. Maybe the jury will take it into consideration, like Darlie Routier and her graveside birthday party.

Edited to add a word.

Agreed.
It's a grievous insult to the little girl who lost her life due to severe neglect.

Denial is a powerful mechanism the mind uses to protect itself from experiencing grief. Just ignore it, move on. Everything is fine. Even though it isn't "fine".

Yep. All I see is concern for himself, mind whirring in an attempt to get out of the horrific predicament he caused. Sooo much bloviating; how much of that was for Parker? You nailed it with “whiny baby voice.”

I hope that video stays online forever to remind Chris - and his wife too - of their rancid behavior.
And to remind anyone that comes in contact with either CS or his wife what they are like AND what they did.

And I also pray that EVERYONE remembers that the girls (including the 16 y/o) are innocent victims and that they need to be shown compassion, love and acceptance into their school, the community, etc - including online and in social media.

Watching this reminded me how he moved around the house. He didn’t know how to behave so he was forcing himself to act distraught. But he couldn’t maintain distraught, he bounced around all the while acting. Acting sad, acting angry, acting…

Christopher was lying through his teeth through both interviews. I’m pretty sure if I go back and review the original time frames, the girls got home from the trampoline park within minutes of him pulling in. They were home all afternoon with baby Parker sleeping in the car, while he played video games, shopped on line, ate lunch & watched 🤬🤬🤬🤬. He even fixed the two girls a snack, they knew she wasn’t in the house with them, so did he!

I will be very surprised if this goes to trial. I still expect him to plead No Contest. He got to spend a few extra months living his best life, taking a trip to Maui, before he is locked up for 25 years. No way is he going to risk spending the rest of his life in prison.

I had surgery at Banner recently. I was very relieved when the anesthesiologist was a tall, red headed young man. I know it wouldn’t have made my doctor happy if I had to reschedule because if Erica had walked in that’s exactly what I was prepared to do if there wasn’t another anesthesiologist available.

Fly with the angels, Parker! I’m sure your sisters miss you. I believe today is the 1st anniversary of Parker passing. I’m so sad for her sisters.

Most cases the child is literally forgotten. The parent thinks the child is in daycare & when they realize they left them in the car the parent is shocked & devastated. Unlike this case where he intentionally left her in the car so he didn’t disturb her nap. I don’t believe CS left Parker in the car wanting her to die but he sure was more interested in his “me time” than in her well being.

I personally couldn’t find a parent guilty of murder for forgetting the child was in the car, they have to live with that for the rest of their life. I wouldn’t wish that on anyone. In this case, I not only would have no problem finding him guilty, I could drop him off at the prison, lock the gate behind him & throw away the key. Erica knew he was driving under the influence, with the kids in the car. Speeding with kids in the car. And she knew he would leave them in the car, alone. I wouldn’t mind seeing her face charges too.

From kvoa.com

Wednesday marks the 1 year anniversary of the death of two year old Parker Scholtes, a toddler killed in July of 2024 after being allegedly left in a hot car for hours while her father played video games.

Scholtes grandparents are hosting a remembrance of Parker at Arthur Pack Regional Park Children’s Playground this afternoon from 1 P.M. to 4 P.M., the same time frame that Parker was allegedly left inside her fathers car.

It’s currently 111* outside - if it wasn’t like stepping into a hot oven just opening the door I would’ve gone to this. I’m happy to know there are ppl from Parker’s life who love and honor her memory.

Scholtes grandparents are hosting a remembrance

I wonder if it was Parker's maternal grandparents or paternal grandparents?

They should ask Parker’s parents to observe the remembrance while seated in their car with the windows rolled up.

Probably wouldn't have been the first time, either.

Parker's grandmother said;
"This memorial is not about vengeance. It is about justice, remembrance, and awareness. Parker’s life mattered. She was deeply loved, and she deserves to be remembered not just for how she died, but for the light and laughter she brought to everyone who knew her."
