Had to look closely at your new avatar and was baffled for a minute, then I zoomed in and "ahhhh" (lightbulb moment). Has had me chuckling all afternoon in dismal, wet Perth. THANK YOU

IMO I think it's poor form. But I think it was actually done to continue putting out information about the case (ie selling media), and due to the current legal processes under way, there is very little "official" information to release; so anything will do.

I also believe that reporters were as stunned about the email as posters here, so it is yet another piece of journalism that is unfavourable to GBC, therefore giving those that already have him hung, drawn and quartered another little tidbit of info to relish in (ie selling media).

If he gets out on bail, IMO his passport will be confiscated, making it a lot harder to flee the country at least. Also, as much as people think he doesn't care for his girls, I don't think he would abandon them. IMO.

I think (regardless of everything) he does really love his children. As someone else said "It is totally possible to hate your spouse and still love your children".
Look at the divorce statistics. He would never abandon the girls IMO
For anyone who would say -but he didn't just hate Allison he killed her....I believe IF he is in fact guilty ,that it was an act of extreme DV and out of control rage. I belive he has always and will always love his children.:moo::moo:

I agree. He is not a career criminal. Something happened that night, or in the days leading up to her death, that tipped him over the edge. IMO.

Legal Aid is there for indigent persons. He would qualify as he apparently has no means or assets to sell. Legal Aid is means tested. If you own assets, a lien is usually taken over suitable assets, or in the case of a house, a caveat is taken over it. This means there is a charge over property, to be repaid when the property is sold or somehow paid back when the matter is finalized. However, if no assets, then no need to pay back.

It's extremely difficult to get Legal aid these days and I dont believe he would be accepted. I think it might be too early to show he truly had no assets or income. The goodwill of the business may still have an estimable value and there would be all of the fixtures, fitting, furniture, computers etc (unless they were leased too.

I am more and more understanding what Gerard has come from - the family has such a sense of entitlement, and dont seem to have any idea of how they are going to be perceived. I just dont think Gerard stood a chance.

Nope you were right, While they didn't actually put the details up on the screen and ask for dontaions, They did zoom in on the letter and anyone with a dvd recorder or any type of recorder could pause it and grab them. I do think its poor form on Channel 10 behalf to air that. While GBC is not yet convicted and is only alleged to have comitted the crime.. I think its in poor taste for one of the major news channels to be airing that with details in full view, as someone said they could have and I think should have blurred out the details..(Perhaps someone high up in channel 10 is a friend/supporter??? Possibly I should not make those sort of suggestions, but its only a thought..MOO and all)
