Thanks Keentoknow. I was thinking for some reason that the medical centre would be a little more pleasant than the general cells and hence GBC wanting to stay there. I really don't know why I thought that :waitasec: - jail is jail after all.

I guess the benefit of the medical unit is that he wouldn't have to mix with other prisoners?

Back there on the lawn with sis and the young journalist, he looks as if he could pack quite a wallop, whereas when most recently photographed (on way to Roma St) he appears quite cerebral

Every time I've watched THE interview, I've wondered if that young journalist shrank back a little, initially (until his trembly little lip and voice emerged)

Doubt he's planning to stick around long enough to consider accepting 'guidance'. Very probably fully expecting to be reunited with his cell-phone by Friday at latest then 'business as usual' as he scouts for another business premises

Thanks for that link plenty....fantastic work from that Dr. Milne. How weird & creepy that the woman's killer dressed her up after he'd killed her & then drove around town with her in the front seat of the car!!!!

Just makes me wonder about the roundabout thing...were police looking for something like this??

I read that murder was back in 1996...the killer was sentenced to 25yrs but seems he was released on parole some time around 2010. Seems to be very little info at all about that case which is kind of unusual.

Can't say, 'Hope you're right', in open forum & under the circumstances, so must say I'll defer to your judgement based on what I gather is your experience in these matters -- wow, sounds so pompous

Reading from Plenty's link to bail, though, it would seem QPS have ticked some but not all boxes, i.e. yes, it's a serious matter, results of various dna and other tests are being awaited and dependents welfare has been assured, etc.

Informed others however, some of them, suspect bail may be granted

May be that QPS would have no problem with that, either. Might work in their favour, who knows, now the cages have been rattled. No telling what might happen ...

IMO , there wouldn t have been too many, if any recently, cases with these circumstances, usually the POI is not too smart and gets caught or too poor to gain expert high profile legal advice IMO

You are so right . Guessing and making assumptions has a low accuracy rate. Sometimes law and order can be upside down. I am sure Det Mark Ainsworth will have a good brief.

Can anyone tell me if the hearing on Thursday will be the only chance for GBC to get bail? ie if he is unsuccessful this time, can he reapply at a later date, or will that be the only chance before trial?
I'm just thinking the evidence against him would want to be extremely sound for the decision to be made to keep an "upstanding citizen" (as his lawyers will portray), who probably wouldn't be deemed a threat to anyone else, behind bars for up to 3 years before trial.
