'On Tuesday, Ontario Provincial Police announced that Deshawn Davis was apprehended in Redway, Calif., yesterday on an unrelated warrant.
Davis was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for being allegedly involved in the abduction of Hajtamiri in January 2022. He was also on the U.S. Marshals Service's list of most wanted fugitives this year.'

"We extend our gratitude to our law enforcement partners at the U.S. Marshals Service for apprehending a dangerous individual wanted in both Canada and the United States," OPP Deputy Commissioner Marty Kearns, Investigations and Organized Crime, said in a release on Tuesday afternoon.

"While this arrest is a significant step forward, our primary goal remains uncovering the truth about Elnaz Hajtamiri's disappearance and providing answers to her loved ones. Let this serve as a strong warning to those involved in Elnaz's kidnapping: we will not rest until we find out what happened to her and ensure that those responsible are held accountable."

When Elnaz can roam the streets freely, then they should let him do the same.

Yes. He murdered a man and injured two women in a nightclub shooting at Miami Beach's GALA nightclub. He can very well be executed for this crime. He was caught in Redway, California. It's 3300 miles between the cities. I wonder how he travelled?

I don't know who gets first dibs on Davis. He became a suspect for his involvement in EH's kidnapping and probable murder. The US marshals sent him back to Florida. There's a lot of negotiating between countries, states and justice sectors when multiple crimes have been committed in different locations. Karla Homolka comes to mind.

Inmate assault charge stayed against man accused in Elnaz Hajtamiri murder case

Mohamad Lilo, the Montreal-area man scheduled for trial in the alleged kidnapping and murder of his former girlfriend, had his jail assault charge stayed by the Crown during a virtual court appearance Monday.

I find it curious that he hasn't been charged with any crimes from his pre-arrest life.

If he was such a master of the underworld, how has he escaped detection for the other things he was involved in? Perhaps all that was in Montreal, so beyond the scope of OPP?

I believe Elnaz would have told LE about anything that was going on, after the first attempt on her life.
